…Exmor R series extend the portfolio of our most successful camera series, the ace. Four new ace U models with the IMX183 rolling shutter CMOS sensor from Sony’s Exmor R series extend the portfolio of our most successful camera series, the ace. The cameras offer a resolution of 20 megapixels with a sensor size of 1″ and a compact design with 29 mm x 29 mm footprint. They deliver frame rates of up to 17 frames per second. These characteristics make the four new ace U models particularly attractive for inspection of the finest structures, such as in printed circuit boards or display production. Constant increases in the resolution of modern displays require ever-higher resolutions in the inspecting camera. The four new high-resolution ace U models feature Basler’s PGI feature set for color and monochrome cameras, which corrects unwanted artifacts. This allows users a particularly good image evaluation at the pixel level. Thus, we enable detailed inspection of high-resolution displays with excellent image quality at a very attractive price.

The innovative BI (back-illuminated) sensor technology of the Sony IMX183 provides excellent sensitivity and low noise at a small pixel size of 2.4 µm. With this particularly light-sensitive sensor, the four new ace cameras offer outstanding image quality even in low light conditions.

Other areas of application are in the traffic sector, where a single ace U 20 MP camera is often sufficient for monitoring multi-lane highways, and in land surveying, where lightweight, high-resolution cameras are required to capture large or inaccessible areas from the air.

All four new ace U cameras are available with proven GigE and USB 3.0 interfaces and include the feature set PGI, a unique combination of 5×5 Debayering, Color-Anti-Aliasing, Denoising and Improved Sharpness. The GigE models also offer powerful GigE Vision 2.0 features such as PTP. Our pylon Camera Software Suite ensures a fast and simple integration of the ace cameras.
