After an initial reliance on catalog sales, he moved the business in 1948 to its Barrington location, where an Edmund Scientific store sold telescopes, binoculars and microscopes.

QTF, a Tampa-area firm founded in 1991, produces optical components and laser crystal coatings, according to its website.
