With the addition of more and more power for appliances (induction cooktops and air conditioners), solar systems and electric vehicles it is really important to ensure your consumer mains can handle the required current safely.

These are the main cables within your house that are responsible for supplying your electricity.  They must be in good condition, appropriate size and adequately protected.

Consumer mains are the cables that run from your point of attachment (POA) to your main switchboard.  These days the minimum cable requirements should be XLPE cable with a cross sectional area of 16mm2.
