With the installation of three new portraits in our Great Hall gallery, Mechanics Hall has undergone an inspirational transformation. Concluding a 5-year project, the newly commissioned portraits honor the lives and legacies of four 19th century Black Americans who impacted social reform within Worcester and beyond. The vibrant portraits of William & Martha Brown, Frederick Douglass, and Sojourner Truth extend and enrich the narrative told by the Great Hall portraits.

At the very heart of our diverse comunity are the children. This non-auditioned program gives Worcester 5th and 6th graders a place to learn, sing and build lasting friendships. Under professional coaching, they'll build confidence and perform on stage at this beautiful concert hall.
