Forgive me my ignorance. I’m old and not tech savvy. I’m researching outdoor security cameras and I don’t want those cheap ones that use wi-fi (which will probably be weak) or run off solar with an ugly panel next to it.

I have a basic home computer setup with internet through my cable or phone line (not sure which - it’s Spectrum). There is one yellow cord (Ethernet I guess?) that goes from my modem to my Wi-Fi router.

My question is, how would I get another cable (or that same cable) across my house and upstairs and through my wall, to get to my outdoor camera?

Sorry if this sounds stupid. I’m just not understanding how this works. I’d like some basic knowledge before I hire someone to come do this for me. Thank you for any help.
