The IMX990 from Sony Corporation is a 1/2-Type Short-Wavelength Infrared (SWIR) Image Sensors for industrial equipment. The new sensor is capable of capturing images in the visible and invisible light spectrum in the short-wavelength infrared range and boasts a compact size made possible by the industry's smallest 5 μm pixel size. It has 1296 (H) × 1032 (V) effective pixels with a unit cell size of 5 (H) x 5 (V) μm. This product employs Sony's original SenSWIR technology and delivers seamless image capture over a broad range of wavelengths covering from the visible to invisible light spectrum in the short-wavelength infrared range (wavelength: 0.4 to 1.7 μm).

Opticalfiber

The use of fiber optics as light guidance allows great modularity and flexibility in the setup of an optical measurement system. Optical fibers can be made of many materials, such as plastic, glass, and silicates (SiO2). For high-quality fibre optics, as used in spectroscopic applications, synthetic fused silica (amorphous silicon dioxide) is used, which can be intentionally doped with trace elements to adjust the optical properties of the glass.

Objective lenses are roughly classified basically according to the intended purpose, microscopy method, magnification, and performance (aberration correction).
