Aspheric lenses are formed using either CNC machining or molding using glass or plastic as the substrate. These lenses have surface profiles such as hyperboloid, paraboloid, acylinder or other higher order surface profiles. Aspheres are typically used to correct spherical aberration or to simplify the number of elements in a design or both. We also manufacture custom solutions in case one of our many standard lenses do not meet your requirements.
For many people, the idea that you can correct your vision naturally -- without glasses, contact lenses, drugs, or lasers -- is more than a notion. Itâs a long-held hope. A lifelong dream.

Leonard Press is an optometrist in Fair Lawn, NJ. He practices visual therapy. Itâs a kind of physical therapy for your eyes and brain. The goal is to develop, heal, or improve how you see. Vision therapy can help certain conditions other than nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.

âFor somebody to say, âHmm, I want to put off the need for reading glasses, so Iâm just going to strain, and not use reading glasses or distance glasses because I want to train my muscle to be as active as possible ...â If you have enough bandwidth in your life to not have great vision in the meantime ... youâre not hurting yourself," Bishop says.
The American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus also found no evidence that vision therapy corrects nearsightedness or keeps it from getting worse. Still, some people insist it does the trick.

Experts believe it may fix convergence insufficiency, for instance. Thatâs when your eyes have a hard time moving together to focus on an object as it comes closer and closer. It can cause eye strain, double vision, and other problems.
The use of aspheric lenses allows an optical system to be made both smaller and lighter. An application that requires several spherical lenses can sometimes be replaced by one aspheric lens. This is made possible because the lenses that would have to be used to correct spherical aberration can be eliminated so the entire system becomes more compact and the overall weight can be reduced. An illustrative example of the reduction of an optical system can be found in beam expansion. The monolithic beam expander consists of a single aspheric lens per element. Due to the afocal design, individual monolith beam expanders can be connected in series. This allows a high variance in the range of beam expansion. Compared with conventional Kepler and Galilean telescopes, the overall length is reduced by up to 50% while maintaining the same quality and magnification.
With spherical imagining lenses, its single-radius profile leads to blurred, out-of-focus images because all of the light rays cannot meet at the focal point. This is known as aberration. Aspheric optics have one or more multi-radiused (aspherical) surfaces that deviate from the shape of a simple sphere. This complex profile allows the light rays to converge at one point and the spherical aberrations to be eliminated. Thanks to modern production technologies, we are able to manufacture aspheric lenses with highest precision even in series.

Some people have blurry vision because âtheir focusing system is focusing too hard," Press says. Natural vision exercises that tackle the cause of the problem "can make you less dependent on glasses,â he says, but it helps only a small number of people.

The American Academy of Ophthalmology agrees. In a 2013 report, the organization said natural vision correction doesnât help nearsightedness, farsightedness, or other vision problems caused by disease.

Natural vision correction is the belief that you can improve your vision with eye exercises, relaxation techniques, and an eye massage every now and then. Some people swear by it. Others say itâs nonsense.
There's no proof the technique works, only wishful thinking, says Michael Repka, a professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
In 1920, a doctor named William Bates, MD, wrote a book called Perfect Sight Without Glasses. In it, he questioned whether glasses were the only way to fix a personâs vision. He decided they werenât and created the Bates Method. Itâs a way for people to improve their sight without glasses thatâs still used today. But not all eye doctors are sold on the idea.
