Ok so this just started the other day, my quest 2 will no longer charge via the Oculus link cable, and when I play PCVR the Q2 battery is discharging fast, I'm talking lost 40% charge in 10 mins.

I got my Quest 2 to charge on Link finally! Two things though, I have no idea if this will stick, it just charged overnight after I did some stuff yesterday, from 20% to 100%, on the USB-C cable, so I'll have to test some more. I also didn't follow proper troubleshooting procedures because I was impatient, so I did a bunch of stuff at once and I have no idea what single step did it.

Then I left it plugged in, with my PC turned on overnight, and it charged. I have no idea what part of that nuclear solution did it, and I'll actually play with it later today and see if it holds up.

Maybe get an Adapter from A-C and use the Oculus Link cable. I don't know exactly if this will work for you, as some user said that it will and other that it doesnt...I will test this too, as I have the same problem.

Same issue with me.  I contacted Support who guided me on making sure my Oculus Drivers were up to date, and to find my USB drivers and make sure they don't have any form of Power Saving mode on.  Spend around 2 hours tops in VRChat last night until completely dead

EDIT: Nope. I played it for about 1 hour and 40 minutes and got a low battery warning again, it's not drawing any power. I then turned it off and left it plugged in: not a single 1% charge in 3 hours.

- I factory reset the Quest 2 entirely, and updated it to the latest version from that factory reset. I also made sure developer mode was off and USB prompts were on

-I went to Device Manager, clicked Show Hidden Devices, and uninstalled everything with Oculus in it, including the ADB and other drivers. I also uninstalled Sidequest.

After playing around I have found a strange issue, the link is plugged into the USB C on my MoBo and when checking power outputs for USB ports the Quest 2 port is showing 0 power output, yet the link cable works fine just stopped supplying power all of a sudden.

I have an ASUS PRIME-X470 PRO motherboard. I noticed that either with V25 or V27 Quest 2 firmware, Oculus Link stopped providing power with the official Link cable through the motherboard's Type-C port.

Using power cord that came with Q2, plugged into USB C port on back of PC, Phone plugged in reads 500mA, plug Q2 in and reads 0mA

The Anker cable I used to use gave me between 6-9 hours under the same conditions.  I still use that at this moment for the extended battery compared to the Official Cable but there is a trade off:

Has FB addressed this cable issue? I am near end of return period and if I can't charge while playing PCVR, then the Quest 2 is pretty much dead to me.

I give up. I went back to a third-party USB 3.0 A-C cable that is very thick and uncomfortable to use, but at least charges the Quest 2 fine. It's gonna be that or Air Link + Powerbank for me in the future. Thanks for the useless $80 cable guys.

Ok this is hilarious, I factory reset my Quest 2 and re-installed the PC software once again today, and it started charging just fine again when the Quest 2 is off! But as soon as I actually use it on Link, it stopped charging, and will not ever charge again until I do another factory reset/reinstall. If this isn't an Oculus software/firmware bug, I'll eat my pants. Nothing else makes sense.

So I managed to remove the bug by formatting everything, but as soon as I connected the Quest 2 to my PC while it was on, it came back, and now it permanently can't charge anymore. My PC for some reason thinks it shouldn't send any power to it.I now have proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that it's not a hardware issue, that my PC can charge the Quest 2 just fine, just as it did before, and that whatever is causing this is some issue in the handshake between the Quest 2 and my PC. This needs to be fixed ASAP, I cannot use my Quest 2 like this, not even 2 hours of gameplay is unnacceptable. I regret selling my Rift S at this point.

To make holograms, you need to use an appropriate laser that has single-mode frequency, sufficient coherence length and output, and appropriate wavelength.

I just swapped cables and ran measuring software.  I get 0 power out to the quest2 on USB-C, but get 1amp or better to other devices.  I confirmed that other items get proper amperage.  This feels like a weird power state firmware bug.  I'll probably start running airplay while keeping it wall tethered in the meantime
