When the “HOLD” switch is pressed, the measurement is frozen. The instrument has an LCD display back illumination light switch for viewing in a dim environment. Press the button, and the backlight lights on, which turns off after 30 seconds to save battery power. Press the “green” button once again to turn OFF the power and put the device into sleep mode.
