But why would anyone want the Flex 2 instead of the Charge 2 if it does more and only costs little more? Well, the Flex 2 is a lot more discreet and much more customizable.

The Fitbit Flex 2, then, goes the other directions. It's smaller, sleeker, is way more fashionable (more on this later), but still tracks most of the same stuff, plus swimming. The Flex 2 is a fitness band for the more casual athletes.

The tracking accuracy, much like other Fitbit bands, vary. It's pretty much 95% spot on for steps, as the device is smart enough to differentiate between an actual step and just standing still and shuffling your feet. I also wasn't able to "trick" the device into thinking I'm walking by moving my arms (which I could do on step counters in smartphones). For swimming, however, it's a bit of a mix bag. On one hand, the device is able to track different styles of swimming, but it tend to under record laps by a tad. On a test swim, I swam ten laps and the device ended up recording nine. One lap off is not a big deal to me, but huge to some.
