Reducing agent example

Oxidising agents are substances which are not in themselves combustible but which may generally cause, or contribute to, the combustion of other materials by yielding oxygen.

Organic peroxides are organic materials which contain the bivalent -O-O- structure. They may be considered a derivative of hydrogen peroxide where one or both hydrogen atoms have been replaced by organic radicals (eg R-O-O-H or R1-O-O-R2).

Reducing agent

Oxidising agents and organic peroxides are identified by the presence of oxygen in the substance (or in one or more of the substances in a mixture) in such a way that it may be readily liberated to take part in chemical reactions. There are two distinct types.
