Sorry this is so late a response to your question. I'm not certain if this is your issue but, I had this issue due to my battery not making contact because the battery's positive end contact was a little too short. This can be resolved with a touch of aluminum foil on the Positive end contact of the controller.

These optional signs can be displayed instead of Long Vehicle or Road Train warning signs, or they can be displayed with the Long Vehicle or Road Train warning signs to improve vehicle safety.

7. The RAV warning sign must be coated with yellow retro reflective material that complies with class 100 or 400 of AS1906.1 – 2017 Retroreflective Materials and Devices for Road Traffic Control Purposes – Retroreflective Sheeting.

Same thing happened to me. Remote was working fine, it needed new batteries. i changed them out and then the remote wouldn’t work. We only played the thing a few months.

The below outlines the optional signage requirements for different vehicle combinations. Transport operators should always refer to the current operating conditions for full signage specifications.

These optional signage requirements are specified in the relevant order or permit operating conditions applicable to the vehicle combination.

The below link is a great, quick 2 minute explanation of how this can be resolved (aside from buying different brand AA batteries) and is my source for the above information.

I'm not certain if this is your issue but, I had a similar problem because my battery was not making contact (on the positive end). This was resolved with some folded up aluminum foil on the Positive end contact of the controller.

In WA, transport operators have the option of displaying pictorial RAV Warning Signs that have been designed to provide a visual cue as to the length of the vehicle combination for the purpose of allowing other motorists to make more informed decision when overtaking.

PBS Level 2B vehicles >30 metres in length and ≤36.5 metres in length, may display the following sign on the rear of the combination with the actual combination length, rounded up to the nearest metre and car equivalent based on a 5-metre-long car rounded up, as per the following example:

Road Trains >27.5 metres in length and ≤36.5 metres in length, may display the following sign on the rear of the combination:

This foil trick did work. I compared the before and after batteries. I had been using ACDelco batteries and switched to a cheap bulk pack of Kirkland brand from Costco. While the overall length of the batteries are the same, the Kirkland negative terminal extends out further beyond the body of the battery and the positive terminal nipple extends less from the body of the battery than the ACDelco battery. Because the positive terminal in the controller sits inside a plastic cup rather than being flush or extended as in most other electronics, the shorter nipple on the Kirkland battery can't connect without some help.

Road Trains >36.5 metres in length and ≤53.5 metres in length, may display the following sign on the rear of the combination:

Long Vehicle and Road Train warning sign requirements are stipulated under regulation 276 of the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Regulations 2014.

5. The RAV warning sign must have a black border. A black border is not required on the inside of a RAV warning sign split in 2 parts.

An “Oversize” warning sign must comply with the requirements set out in the Oversize Vehicle & Pilot Vehicle General Requirements, available on the Oversize Overmass (OSOM) page on this website.

Rigid truck and trailer combinations >22 metres in length and ≤25 metres in length, may display the following sign on the rear of the combination:

PBS Level 4B vehicles >53.5 metres in length and ≤60 metres in length, may display the following sign on the rear of the combination:

Level 2, 3 and 4 PBS vehicles that fit within the standard road train length limits, may display signage specified under “Standard Road Train & B-double Signage”.

6. The RAV warning sign must display the sign manufacturer’s name or logo, and the brand and class of retro reflective material used, in block letters not over 10 mm high.

A RAV with a length exceeding 22 metres, up to 25 metres, and with a width not exceeding 2.5 metres, must only display an “Oversize” warning sign on the rear of the vehicle, or if carrying a rear projecting load, as close to the rear of the load as practical.

Spoke with support and the options are to try a full factory reset and if that doesn't work... Get a replacement. This is literally my first battery replacement and it seems the hardware is physically finnicky with batteries. Really poor design and experience overall.

3. The RAV warning sign must display the words specified in in the below images, in black capital letters, in typeface Helvetica Neue Bold Condensed, and the size shown below.
