Plate and vehicle information is queried across one or more databases to identify vehicles of interest to law enforcement, and then alert law enforcement officers when a specific vehicle of interest has been detected.
Gunshot detection devices help law enforcement respond more quickly to incidents involving the use of firearms allowing for more effective investigations into firearms related crimes. When a gunshot occurs, the system notifies law enforcement, in under one minute, about the firearm discharge. These notifications include an audio recording of the gunshots and location coordinates within 90 feet of the alert.

The Murfreesboro Police Department is taking the final steps towards the completion of a new Real Time Crime Center (RTCC). The RTCC will feature state-of-the-art technologies, including Automated License Plate Readers (ALPR), Public Safety Cameras, and gunshot detection devices. Gunshot detection devices, that utilize acoustic sensors to detect and locate gunshots in real time, are being installed at multiple locations around the City. ALPRs have been installed in various locations across the City along with Public Safety Camera systems. Public Safety Camera locations were primarily based on violent crime data or in areas where a specific need has been identified.
