What is Lens Distortion? - lens distortion
Despite the fact that most of the infrared light is absorbed by the water and appears black, it does not stop some of the light being reflected from the rocks onto the water and back to the camera sensor. My Lumix Panasonic compact camera has a Leica lens and an 18MP sensor. However, since the conversion to monochromatic infrared the resolution of this camera has been reduced markedly. The conversion process involves removing the IR blocking filter (1mm-720nm) on the sensor and replacing it with one that filters out light in the visible spectrum (700-380nm).

Self-portrait using a Fuji X-Pro1 and being economical with the light (and the megapixels). This camera does not have face recognition. A shot like this has to be done manually. I actually prefer it this way. In situations like this one also does not need 30, 40 or even 60 MP sensors as the current generation of high-end digital cameras would offer. 16 MP, as this camera has, is plenty. And my dream camera is indeed an older one, the 18MP Leica M9.
