A circular polarizing filter absorbs rays of sunlight, by rotating the ring you control the effect. A Circular Polarizer is used on cameras with beam splitting metering systems commonly found on auto focus SLR’s (for most 35mm auto-focus cameras see your camera manual). The Standard Circular Polarizer filter blocks 1.5 stops of light and is one of those must have filters.

The low light polarizer has less of a polarizing effect than a standard polarizer filter, allowing for it to be used in indoor and darker situations when available light is at a premium. Low light polarizer filters require 1 stop of exposure compensation, instead of the standard 1.5 stop compensation.

The latest versions (25, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2014, 2012, 2011, and the 2010 NE-XT v2.4) include a powerful ZRLC meter (updated from 2019 onwards) capable of measuring the impedance of a device across various frequencies, including capacitance, inductance, resistance, real and imaginary components, Q-factor, and phase. This feature requires an acquisition board (such as a sound card) and a simple circuit utilizing two low-cost operational amplifiers, with an example available on this website. The ZRLC software also supports measuring the input impedance of amplifiers, transformers, and loudspeakers—see ZRLC details for more information. A simple vector scope has been added alongside the ZRLC meter window, and a full screenshot is available here. The recent 2.4 version introduces new and exciting features, highlighted in the News section. The magazine Nuova Elettronica has also published an article detailing specific hardware for the ZRLC function. Last but not least,an article on Elsevier.

In the Warm Polarizer filter, Tiffen combines the properties of the polarizing filter with the exclusive effects of the 812® Warming Filter. This valuable filter adds natural warmth to all skin-tones, exterior shade and highlight areas. This is useful in outdoor open shade situations where there is excessive blue in the image and total control over lighting may not be possible.

Visual audit meaning

Visual Analyser is a comprehensive professional real-time software suite that transforms your PC into a full set of measurement instruments, with no additional hardware required (you can use your PC’s sound card). Alternatively, you can use specific external hardware (see the Hardware section for an example). Visual Analyser runs on Windows operating systems. The Visual Analyser 25 Silvia edition is now available (for both 64-bit and 32-bit platforms), though it is no longer compatible with Windows 9x. VA also runs on Linux through the wine utility. Wave, MP3, and FLAC file management were added in the 2012 version and have been further improved in the 25 versions. VA has been adopted as the basic measurement software by Nuova Elettronica magazine (a famous italian magazine that has now ceased all publication).

Polarizing filters provide color and contrast enhancement. Reflected light often shows up as whitish glare that washes out color in an image. A Polarizer filter corrects this problem producing deep, dramatically blue skies. It also removes glare from non-metallic surfaces, such as windows and water. Color saturation in general, especially outdoors, can be improved significantly. Standard Polarizer filters blocks 1.5 stops of light.
