In the offshore energy sector, it is likely that a number of large and expensive survey vessels can be replaced by unmanned surface vessels to carry out subsea mapping, inspection, and maintenance work.

This is a system where vision and control work together to provide a safe, simple and reliable method for landing gangways from ship to platform or ship to ship without the need for expensive and complex 3D compensation.

Scantrol's sister companies Deep Vision and Girona Vision Research are key partners in our vision & control strategy. The two companies are experts in vision technology and machine learning and work together to develop a subsea vision system that allows commercial fishermen to catch only legal fish while preventing the catch of illegal or undersized fish. The system is already in use within marine research, and commercial fishermen will soon be able to use the system.

Scantrol is engaged in delivering control systems for unmanned surface vessels, and we have noticed a growing demand for more intelligent monitoring and control for this type of vessel.

Controls using information from the vision system for accurate positioning of harvesting equipment independent of vessel motion and for controlling the capacity of harvesting equipment.

The system will have an auto landing option. In auto landing mode, the motion is continuously monitored and compared to the characteristics of the gangway to determine the correct moment for landing safely.

Bringing modern vision and machine learning technology onboard vessels operating on the seven oceans is a challenging task that has been on Scantrol’s agenda for several years. Technology of this type is definitely required, but it needs to be developed and implemented with care to achieve the safety and reliability necessary for marine operations

Prisma foil (press on prism foil) from Fresnel for orthoptic diagnostics and therapy. Especially for pre-operative prism compensation and medium-term application at unstable angles. The adhesive foil is statically adhesive and can be cut to size.

To address the issue of CO2 emissions, the maritime industry needs to increase the use of robotics and autonomous vessels.

Marine resources can be harvested sustainably through the introduction of new technologies and a change in attitudes. We aim to take part in this development by providing vision & control technology for marine research and commercial fisheries.

We mount a camera at the end of the gangway and a recognizable target on the landing platform. The vision system locates the target and assists the operator in positioning the gangway above the landing platform. Once the gangway is correctly positioned above the landing point, the vision system will monitor the gangway movement relative to the landing point and signal the operator when it is safe to land.

We have prepared ourselves by building up expertise in the sister companies Deep Vision and GVR, and we are now in the process of integrating our technologies into a common Vision & Control platform.

Deep Vision has built up extensive experience with hardware and software design of subsea vision systems, and our team has proven its ability to deliver advanced vision technology for harsh subsea environments. Deep Vision shares offices with Scantrol.

The self-adhesive prism foils are particularly practical and easy use. The foils can be applied quickly and easily to the lens and ensure the correct prism compensation.

How long a prism is needed depends upon your individual needs and your eye condition. Sometimes a prism is needed for several months, but the strength of it changes as your eye condition stabilises.

This is the laminated version of the Hardy Rand Rittler Test (4th edition). HRR colour test with 20 plates. This book includes 4 demonstration plates, 6 plates for Screening, 14 plates to diagnose color deficiency.

We have achieved great progress in the development of our new Gangway Landing Assistant, and it will soon be ready for launch.

The self-adhesive prism foils are optimally applicable as a temporary solution until the corrective operation. They are also suitable for intermediate use in general conditions (such as diabetes). The high-quality plastic ensures excellent image quality.

There are many reasons for using a fresnel prism. Your orthoptist will discuss with you the reason why you have been advised to use one. The most common reasons are to:

By developing controls for autonomous launch and recovery of subsea survey equipment and machine learning-based vision systems, we intend to contribute to this transition.

We have set ourselves the goal of becoming an important player in this market, and a significant part of our R&D activities are directed towards this goal.

The R&D teams of Scantrol, Deep Vision and GVR are working together on developing a new Vision & Control platform. The work is well underway and the first products will be launched soon.

Scantrol is an independent supplier of monitoring and control systems to the modern marine and offshore industries. More about us

Laminated combination HRR/Amsler book for testing of acquired color vision defects is now easier than ever with two of the key tests combined in one book. The HRR 4th edition is combined with a book of Amsler Charts, including diagonals, red lines, and subdivided squares.

Girona Vision Research has a high level of expertise in subsea image processing and machine learning, and is located at the University of Girona Technology Park.
