I have an ASI224MC and see that there's a "gain" slider. My very basic understanding is that this basically corresponds to sensitivity. Higher sensitivity can lead to more detail, but also more noise. Is there any scientific method to figuring out the "ideal" gain for a session, besides just sliding it up and down? I saw something about "unity gain", but I think that's more of a technical definition than a suggestion for actual imaging.
