Available with a 2, 3, or 4kw rack mounted Fiber Laser, and a production capacity of up to 5/8" carbon steel and a pierce capacity of ¾" carbon steel with the 4kw option fiber laser, these systems are designed to complement the high accuracy and quality of cut expected from a modern fiber laser cutting system. Metal sheet capacity is up to 5’x10’ and roll-out drawer allows the use of a forklift or overhead material loading option when feedingmaterial.

Cutting fiberoptic cable

Linc-Cut systems are designed with safety in mind. These features include light-safe panel junctions, properly rated process-viewing windows, safety-rated door switches, and more.

Nest parts imported from native CAD DXF files to single or multiple sheets. Nest parts based on thickness and material type. Estimated cut times are provided for accurate job estimation.

The Linc-Cut 3015 laser cutting system is optimized to save you floor space, with a roll-out material support drawer. A light-safe front door opens with the flip of a switch for accessing the material and support drawer, and closes when the laser is cutting. This provides the operator and any bystanders protection from the infrared laser cutting process, and provides an enclosure for capturing the particulate and fumes from the cutting process.

The Lincoln Electric Linc-Cut™ CNC Fiber Laser cutting system is a unitized fiber lasercutting cell offering you premium cut quality at high cutting speeds for your sheet metalfabrication needs.

Previous issues of Coating Materials News have discussed IR technology [References 1, 2] if you wish to know more on the topic.  The spectral regions of infrared energy that reach the surface of the earth are chopped up by water and carbon dioxide absorption bands in the atmosphere, leaving specific windows through which terrestrial IR instruments can operate  (Figure 1). The full solar emission spectrum is only available in the extraterrestrial space environment.

FiberOptic Cutter Tool

The majority of IR applications operate at mid-wave and long-wave spectral regions where thermal energy exceeds the visible solar energy background (See Figure 1). The instruments and sensors for these regions detect emitted rather than reflected energy. There is a growing list of applications for IR instruments which is expected to expand as more and different IR sensors are developed and brought to market. Materials that are used in making thin-film coatings for these applications are also under continuous development. Among the applications are:

The heavy-duty machine frame and reinforced fabricated steel gantry allows for high acceleration and deceleration rates to complement the Fiber Laser cutting process at higher speeds. The machine bed contains three downdraft zones, each zone has a pneumatically activated door that is controlled by the CNC to focus the fume extraction under the cutting process.

Lead in's and kerf compensation produce clean, accurate final parts. Tabbing of small parts allows for easy retrieval with minimal cleanup.

There are new developments in infrared (IR) materials and an ever growing number of applications for IR coatings. As a leading supplier, Materion specifically prepares and refines infrared (IR) coating materials to meet these increasing demands. Following is a review of the materials, technology and some of the applications that require IR coatings.

Linc-Cut system cut speeds greatly exceed plasma cutting in gauge materials, and when coupled with a sturdy machine with high acceleration and deceleration rates, produce cuts with little to no secondary processing.

Quickly process patterned cuts with the Fly Cutting process. Moving the machine at a high rate of speed and cycling the laser power on and off provides extremely fast processing of grid type patterns.
