He joined the East Riding of Yorkshire Council as Street Lighting Engineer 14 years ago and has been Service Manager for 3 years now. In that time, he has overseen a £12m column replacement programme, £10m energy reduction investment and energy reduction of 17m units.

Her presentation will be a case study: Coventry the Second largest On-street EV Charging Network in the UK. It is about Coventry’s on-street residential charging point programme (ORCS) and addresses the concerns of residents who lack off-street parking facilities by providing easy access to charge points on residential streets. The project has successfully secured £7.56 million of government funding and £3.7 million private sector investment, which has facilitated the installation of 958 charge points across the city, with a further 450 single and dual socket charge points being currently installed, due for completion in April 2024.

He has now also taken on the role of Project Manager for Live Labs 2 project, Decarbonising the Highway, looking at decarbonising and rationalising street lighting and lit sign provision from East Riding of Yorkshire Council, he will be presenting LiveLabs2 which is a Department of Transport research and innovation through which East Riding of Yorkshire Council are exploring ways to decarbonise their highways through replacement of street lighting with other visual equipment. They are approaching the end of the first year of the three-year program and this presentation will give an update of our progress this year and their activities in the coming financial year.
