Fiber lasers belong to the solid state laser group. They generate a laser beam by means of the so-called seed laser and amplify it in specially designed glass fibers, which are supplied with energy via pump diodes. With a wavelength of 1.064 micrometers, fiber lasers produce an extremely small focal diameter; as a result their intensity is up to 100 times higher than that of CO2 lasers with the same emitted average power.
I am very happy to announce the switch to my very own Yooperlites battery brand. These are suitable for every flashlight sold at www.yooperlites.com that uses 18650 batteries.
The wrist lanyard is easily adjustable for any size wrist. I highly recommend using the lanyard as you do not want to drop this light if possible!
Unlike fiber lasers, these laser types include the relatively expensive pump diodes, which are wearing parts. They must be replaced after approx. 8,000 to max. 15,000 laser hours. The crystal itself also has a shorter service life than a fiber laser.

CO2 laser are gas lasers that are based on a carbon dioxide gas mixture, which is stimulated electrically. With a wavelength of 10.6 micrometers, they are mainly suited for working on non-metallic materials and on most plastics. CO2 lasers have a relatively high efficiency and feature a very good beam quality. They are therefore the most widely used laser types.
UV eye protection is essential when using this light. With the power of this light I would not use it without UV eye protection.
Inside of each AURORA is a built-in brushless fan. It is ultra quiet and uses very little battery power. The AURORA has 2 vents, with one on each side of the flashlight head. Each vent has a mesh screen that helps keep sand and dust out of the light.
3 years ago, I had a crazy idea to make a UV flashlight that would not overheat and be more powerful than anything else on the market. Well after 3 years of research and development I am pleased to announce the Yooperlites AURORA is finally here!
The Yooperlites AURORA comes with a 1-year manufacturer warranty. Warranty will void if different batteries are used. The provided Yooperlites 18650 batteries are sized for this flashlight. Other brands may be the wrong size and can harm your AURORA. The AURORA is NOT waterproof or water resistant. Exposing this light to water will void the warranty and may cause harm.

The laser machines available in the market mainly differ by the laser source they use. We mainly talk about CO2 lasers, fiber lasers and vanadate lasers. Each laser type has its own advantages and disadvantages and is suited for use on different materials.

What's in the box: 4-slot USB-C charger, (4) Yooperlites 18650 3000MAh batteries, Aurora UV flashlight, Protective Hardshell Case, Wrist Lanyard
Suited for the following materials: Metals, coated metals, plastics The following laser series include a fiber laser source: Speedy fiber/flexx laser engravers, SpeedMarker
In 2023 all Yooperlites flashlight packages will be transitioning to these batteries. I will no longer sell any other brand of 18650 batteries.
First time searching for yooperlites and this flashlight did the job. What an amazing and fun experience for us!!! So glad I made this purchase. Husband found a monster rock 👍
Great value in the package! Batteries last longer than expected and the light is of great quality! Thank you for the great offer! Happy hunting!
Yooperlites 18650 batteries have a built in protection chip, so you never have to worry about over charging or under charging these batteries. Keeping you and your flashlights safe.
Laser typesand uses
Great light, very high output. It's quite a bit heavier than the C8 as you'd expect but it packs a punch. Be nice if it was water proof or just splash proof just in case it's dropped while having fun.

Thanks to the innovative design, this light goes further, shines brighter, and wider than any other UV flashlight I have ever used.

Fiber lasers are optimally suited for metal marking by way of annealing, for metal engraving, and for high-contrast plastic markings. Fiber lasers are generally maintenance-free and feature a long service life of at least 25,000 laser hours.
These glasses enhance the wearers experience viewing Yooperlites with longwave UV and provide eye protection against harmful rays.
Suited for the following materials: Wood, acrylic, glass, paper, textiles, plastics, foils & films, leather, stone The following laser series include a CO2 laser source: Speedy laser engravers, SP laser cutters
One pair of yellow tinted 99% UV blocking glasses. These work awesome when paired with any of the lights available at Yooperlites.
When you add all 4 heads together this light goes further, shines brighter, and wider than any other UV flashlight I have ever used.
I have gotten 4 hours of runtime from a single set of 4 batteries. Need to replace the batteries and keep going? Simply swap out with a fresh set!
For most folks, the C8 & Yooperlites MAX+ are plenty of power and great for getting started. But for those that just want more, there's the Aurora.

1 365nm UV LED with ZWB2 filter. The Yooperlites Convoy C8 is is bright enough for most folks - it's plenty bright on it's own!
I have used this light behind 4 others ahead of me on the beach. And found 38 yooperlites that they all missed. Worth every penny, and stays cool because of the internal fan

This map helped us locate amazing yooperlites in Grand Marais and along the Superior shoreline. First time and it brought us success. Would recommend
I had a typical UV flashlight sold on Amazon that cast the purple light. It picks up reactivity, but when I compare it with the Convoy the difference is striking. I want to run to the shoreline right now. The kit is complete with 2 sets of rechargeables and charger, and the sample stone is much appreciated. My husband and daughter, much less interested in rockhounding than I, noticed the difference as well. the grandkids might need their own eventually!

A special type of fiber laser is the MOPA laser, where pulse durations are adjustable. This makes the MOPA laser one of the most flexible lasers which can be used for many applications.
Why did it take 3 years? Well after coming up with the idea to try and use a fan to cool a flashlight, we ran into many issues! I do extensive testing on all my lights, and I refuse to sell junk. And even though there were many setbacks and failures, we kept going and did a complete redesign after airflow became an issue. I won't bore you with the entire process, but we went through many different designs and prototypes.

The Yooperlites AURORA comes with a hardshell case, (4) Yooperlites brand 18650 3000mah protected button top batteries, a wrist lanyard, and a 4-slot USB-C battery charger.
With 4 separate heads & separate LEDs, this is by far, the most powerful 365nm UV flashlight I have ever used! Each head puts out much more UV output than a single Convoy C8.
Like fiber lasers, crystal lasers belong to the solid-state lasers. Nowadays, lasers for marking applications are pumped by diodes (in the past by flash lamps). The most common laser types in this category are Nd:YAG (neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet) and Nd:YVO (neodymium-doped yttrium ortho-vanadate), named after the doping element neodymium and the carrier crystal. With 1.064 micrometers, crystal lasers have the same wavelength as fiber lasers and are thus also suited for marking metals and plastics.
