Mein persönlicher Favorit unter den Fremdfabrikaten ist das Sigma 105 mm. Es bietet am meisten vom Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Allerdings ist das Sigma nicht für jeden Objektivanschluß erhältlich.

All said - the fact the initial attempt to "adjust" Z at the top stops was failing due to the 210 limit is a clue. It's been long enough I can't recall what the order is when running the setup wizard. If a user does the cal manually, but out of some "proper" order, I wonder if that isn't part of the problem here.

Das Foto wurde nicht mit einem Makro-Objektiv aufgenommen. Aber mit einem 70-200mm Zoom und 200mm Brennweite bei offener Blende 2,8. Mir geht es darum, zu zeigen wie man mit solch einer Brennweite ein Motiv vom Hintergrund freistellen kann. Je näher man an ein Motiv geht, desto leichter kann man das Umfeld in Unschärfe auflösen.

I just updated the firmware on my MK3S for the first time in quite a while (probably two years) and I'm getting the same error, along with the pinda not lining up with the circle on the hotbed. I tried loading MK3 firmware to calibrate, but still getting the same issue. If I auto home however, the pinda lines up correctly with the circle.

Für den Einstieg ist ein 50er oder 60er Makro-Objektiv die günstigste Variante. Wer viele Kleintiere fotografiert sollte lieber zum 105er Tele-Makro greifen. Damit erhält man in diesem Motivbereich viel öfter gute Treffer.

Bei digitalen Kameras mit Vollformat-Chip (ca. 24x36mm) sind die Ansprüche an das optische Auflösungsvermögen inzwischen sehr hoch. Darauf sind die 50 – 60mm Brennweiten der meisten Hersteller auch ausgelegt. Natürlich kann man diese hochauflösenden Brennweiten auch an Kameras mit kleinerem Aufnahmechip einsetzen.

I had this problem on my MK3S about a year ago after I did swapped the hot end and re-ran calibration to make sure all was still good. Like you calibration started, the z axis went to the top until it hit the stops and missed a few steps, then scrolled all the way down until the nozzle was just above the bare bed, and the PINDA triggered whereupon it immediately stopped with the 'Check Axes' error. . The PINDA also seemed to be misaligned with the marks on the bed as per your experience. The display also showed Z=5.0?. When I used the settings menu to move the z axis back up it got to Z=210 and stopped, but now the top of the axis screws was approx 6mm below the end stop. When I drove it down again using the menu the nozzle would hit the bed at Z=4.0. It's like the firmware missed the first 5mm of travel before it started counting the distance.

Den größeren Telebereich erkauft man sich allerdings auch teurer. Auch das Gewicht ist bei diesen Tele-Brennweiten bereits höher. Die meisten dieser Objektive sind deswegen mit einer Stativschelle ausgestattet. Tele-Makros werden häufig in der Tierfotografie eingesetzt. Vor allem da, wo man einen größeren Abstand zum Motiv benötigt, da es sonst schnell flüchten würde, bevor man ein Foto gemacht hätte.

If you didn't grease the bearings before installing them, you might want to try adding a few drops of machine oil to the rods and work the oil into the bearings. Seems sticky bearings also causes the XYZ cal to fail.

In the end as a last-gasp, clutching at straws hope, I flashed the latest Mk3 firmware onto my Mk3S. On reboot it informed me that the model had changed and that I had MK3 firmware with MK3S hardware but other than that all seemed ok. The XYZ calibration worked first time without a problem. A Z-axis calibration also worked without issue. At that point I reflashed it with the correct MK3S firmware and the calibration settings stayed intact. After that I did the usual bed levelling and first layer calibrations for both sheets and all was well. It's been working fine since.

After doing that, I try the XYZ calibration again - now it drives to the top, comes down, and walks through the calibration point search.

Ein Makro-Objektiv kann natürlich auch für andere Motive eingesetzt werden. Ich kenne einige Portraitfotografen die nehmen ein 105er Makro-Objektiv auch gerne mal für Portraitfotos! Viele Portraitfotografen möchten ein weiche zeichnendes Objektiv. Manche gefällt allerdings der härtere Kontrast und Schärfeeindruck eines Makro-Objektives besser. Zum einen hängt das vom Motiv ab. Zum anderen ist es Geschmackssache.

Die Auswahl an Makro-Objektiven ist derzeit gut. Durch das vorhandene Kamerasystem kann man viele angebotene Objektive bereits ausschließen Am Ende wird eine kleine Auswahl über bleiben. Sparfüchse werden vom Sigma 105 mm begeistert sein. Natur- und Tierfotografen werden sich für das Sigma 150 mm begeistern.

Alle Makro-Objektive werden für den Einsatz im Nahbereich konstruiert. Die Optik ist für diese Anwendung berechnet. Aber auch für die herkömmliche Fotografie kann man Makro-Objektive bedenkenlos einsetzen.

Makroobjektiv Canon

Die 50er Brennweite kann sehr vielfältig eingesetzt werden, da sie in etwa dem Sehwinkel des menschlichen Auge entspricht. Die meisten statischen Objekte im Innen- und Aussenbereich können damit fotografiert werden. Mit einem guten Autofokus funktioniert dies auch bei kleinen Tieren wie Insekten ganz gut. Wobei es hier schon die ersten Schwierigkeiten geben kann. Manche Tiere haben eine Fluchtdistanz. Bei einem 50er Objektiv ist der Aufnahmeabstand zum Motiv meist sehr gering. Dadurch können auch Abschattung entstehen, die eine kurze Verschlusszeit verhindern oder einfach nur unschön aussehen können.

I believe it's hardcoded for the printer to not exceed 210mm travel. If you hit it prior to getting to the top of the Z-axis, just turn off the printer, turn it back on, and drive it up until both left and right touch the top. This is to make sure they are at the same height.

Der geschmorte Krake ist mit einem 105 Makro-Objektiv aufgenommen worden. Nur der Fangarm vorne rechts ist scharf abgebildet. Der Rest verschwimmt in Unschärfe. Mit einem 60er Objektiv wäre der Schärfebereich größer und der Unschärfebereich nicht so ausgeprägt.

Ob man ein Original-Objektiv oder ein Fremdfabrikat kauft spielt heute keine große Rolle mehr. Inzwischen sind die Fremdhersteller wie Tamron, Sigma und Tokina in der optischen Qualität oft auf vergleichbaren Niveau. Unterschiede gibt es aber oft in der technischen Ausstattung. Objektive mit Silent-Wave-Motor focusieren schneller und sind sehr leise. Objektive mit Antiwackel-Funktion bringen öfter bessere bzw. richtig scharfe Fotos auch bei schlechten Lichtverhältnissen zu Stande. Hier kann sich ein Vergleich vor dem Kauf lohnen.

I recently had cause to re-work the extruder and I faced exactly the same problems. Again I spent an evening trying everything I could to no avail so I flashed it with the MK3. The calibration with the wrong firmware worked fine. Flashed back to the MK3S firmware and all was well. To my mind there's clearly something odd, and there's clearly some differences between the calibration routines in the MK3 and MK3S firmwares. Either way it might be worth giving this strange workaround a go if you have the same issue

I spent many hours on chat with Prusa support over the next few days. We tried factory resets, lubricating the rods, swapping out the PINDA, beta firmware and old firmware. I even rebuilt the extruder axis completely, all the time sending pics and videos to support just to make sure it was good. We couldn't figure out anything and no-one at Prusa support could work out what was wrong.

4. I change the endstop and run the endstop test to make sure it run as it should be. Press and it show (1) and release it show (0) instantly.

Update: chatted with Prusa support, and resetting the pinda adjustment fixed it. The Z axis wasn't going all the way up to the top before performing the XYZ calibration, and adjusting the pinda must have fixed that.

Viele Fotoanfänger lassen sich oft vom scheinbar hohen Preis eines Makro-Ojektives abschrecken und versuchen sich erst einmal mit billigen Nahlinsen in der Makrofotografie. Mag sein, dass es manche Hobby-Fotografen gibt, denen die Qualität von Nahlinsen ausreicht? Wer aber einmal mit einem Makro-Objektiv im Nahbereich fotografiert hat, wird seine Nahlinsen schnell vergessen.

Aber auch die Kameraherstellern haben hier sehr gute Objektive im Sortiment. Am Ende wird man sich zwischen Fremdfarbrikat oder Original entscheiden müssen. Budget und persönliche Einschätzung werden die Wahl hauptsächlich beeinflussen. Ich greife meist zum Original-Hersteller. Ich kann aber auch Fotografen verstehen, welche aus Preisgründen zum Fremdfabrikat greifen. Diese sind heute optisch auf vergleichbarem Niveau.

Der Effekt ist vom Aufnahmeabstand, der Brennweite und der Blende abhängig. Damit kann man bewusst ein Foto gestalten. Im Extremfall sogar ein Motiv vom Hintergrund freistellen. Nur das Motiv scharf abbilden. Der Rest verschwimmt in Unschärfe.

30er und 40er Brennweiten werden meist für Spiegelreflexkameras oder spiegellosen Systemkameras mit kleinerem Aufnahme-Chip konstruiert. Kleiner als 24x36mm. Da reicht ein geringerer Bildfeldkreis. Auch an die Bildauflösung gibt es meist geringere Anforderungen. Zudem wird das Objektiv dadurch günstiger, kleiner und handlicher.

Je nach Objektiv-Hersteller gibt es noch das ein oder andere technische Feature, welche das fotografieren im Makrobereich erleichtert:

Im leichten Telebereich hat man bei scheuen Motiven, wie Insekten und kleinen Tieren, mit diesen Brennweiten bereits einen etwas größeren Aufnahmeabstand. Die Chancen auf einen fotografischen Treffer steigen mit dem erweiterten Abstand. Wir reden hier aber meist nur von ein paar Zentimeter Unterschied zum 50er oder 90er Makro-Objektiv.

I noted when it proved for Z top it stopped at 210mm. It then comes down, stops at z=5.0 and gives the error. I’ve tested PINDA probe. It’s reading correctly. It’s about 1mm above extruder tip. It is triggered.

Wenige Objektivhersteller schreiben auf manche Zoom-Objektive Makro, obwohl diese noch weit vom Makrobereich entfernt sind. Ein optimierter Naheinstellbereich wäre eine korrektere Bezeichnung. Solche Objektive die den Namen nur als mutmassliches Verkaufsargument haben, meine ich hier nicht. Zudem lassen sich bei Zoom-Objektiven die optischen Fehler nicht so weitreichend korrigieren wie bei einer Festbrenntweite.

Die Auswahl an Tele-Makros ist recht gering. Nur wenige Objektivhersteller haben hier aktuelle Modelle. Beliebter in den Verkaufscharts sind da die 50 – 60er und 90er bis 105er Brennweiten. Wer aber noch mehr Abstand zu einem Motiv braucht und noch leichter ein Motiv in Unschärfe freistellen möchte, für den ist ein kräftiges Tele-Makro sicherlich ein willkommenes Objektiv.

Die Lichtstärke ist schlechter als bei einem normalen 1,8/50er Objektiv. Dennoch kostet solch ein Makro-Objektiv meist 2-5x soviel wie ein 1,8er. Der konstruktive Aufwand und die Mechanik sind meist aufwändiger. Wenn dann noch ein Ultrasonic-Motor oder Antiverwacklungs-Mechanismus dazu kommt erhöht dies den Preis aber auch die Einsatzmöglichkeiten.

Ein leichtes Tele als Makro-Objektiv eignet sich sehr gut für das fotografieren von Kleintieren als auch für gestalterische Bildgestaltungen mit Schärfe- und Unschärfespiel.

I think it's a good idea to lubricate the machine as well, but why does the build instructions insist heavily on not needing to do an initial lubrication since the bearings have already been lubricated? I just finished my build and I'm having issues with XYZ calibration that I am working through.
