Accuracy and speed go hand in hand when it comes to these models. This has advantages for many applications, e.g. in inspection systems for status and end checks at production lines with high cycle rates – such as semiconductor or solar panel inspection. Users also benefit from the fact that even large scenes and image sections can be precisely monitored and evaluated with these cameras. This proves its worth, for example, in logistics tasks for incoming goods and in the warehouse.

It also relieves manufacturers of the need to perform expensive and complex sensor system calibration at the factory. The integrated assembly is also thinner than a discrete arrangement with an external diffuser, enabling smartphone manufacturers to accommodate the color sensor more easily in ultra-compact product designs. The TCS3530 True Color Sensor is housed in a 2.5 mm x 1.8 mm x 1.5 mm OLGA package. It is available for sampling now.

The new industrial cameras are equipped with the onsemi global shutter sensors XGS20000 (20 MP, 1.3"), XGS30000 (30 MP, 1.5"), and XGS45000 (45 MP, 2"). They are primarily used in high-precision quality assurance tasks when motion blur needs to be minimized and data needs to be quickly available on the network. The 10GigE cameras offer up to ten times the transmission bandwidth of 1GigE cameras and are about twice as fast as cameras with USB3 interfaces.
The high performance of the TCS3530 color sensor results from a series of ams OSRAM innovations in optical chip technology and packaging. These include a new 8-channel configuration consisting of the XYZ channels, an infrared channel, and four reference channels. The TCS3530 also includes a new high-speed flicker detection capability up to 7 kHz, to enable the elimination of interference from flickering AC mains-driven lights and LEDs during image and video capture.
The Camera Revolution in the Electronic Industry is reshaping sectors through advanced imaging tech. From smartphones to healthcare and surveillance, cameras drive innovation, enhancing visual experiences, safety, diagnostics, and data collection. Sensor advancements and connectivity fuel this evolution, underlining the profound impact of a lens on industries.

The TCS3530’s new optical assembly includes a built-in diffuser. This eliminates the need for the end-product manufacturer to design and build their optical assembly with an external diffuser. This greatly simplifies the optical design effort and manufacturing. The TCS3530’s assembly has a precisely engineered distance between sensor and aperture and benefits from exact diffuser placement. Combined with 100% end-of-line calibration, the TCS3530’s integrated architecture produces extremely consistent optical performance from one unit to the next.
VC MIPI® modules feature high quality, a ruggedized design and guaranteed long-term availability. The MIPI CSI-2 port allows for easy connection to all common processor platforms. Vision Components provides the corresponding drivers free of charge. The market leader is continuously adding more image sensors to the VC MIPI® portfolio, also including applications such as SWIR and 3D/ToF. On request, Vision Components also integrates special sensors into MIPI modules, even image sensors with no native MIPI interface.
The sensor’s highly accurate measurements of chromaticity and illuminance support superior automatic white balancing in cameras, as well as sophisticated display color management
These NICs also feature real-time, front-panel 5 V TTL trigger input for added flexibility, along with support for the GigE Vision Streaming Protocol (GVSP), Windows and Linux operating systems, GPUDirect, and camera multiplexing and multicasting with switches. Emergent also showcases its NICs at Automate 2023.

In industrial automation, the optimization of processes is often primarily about higher efficiency and accuracy. 10GigE cameras, such as those in the uEye Warp10 camera family from IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH, set standards here. They enable high-speed image processing in Gigabit Ethernet-based networks even with large amounts of data and over long cable distances. For even more precision, the company is now introducing new models with sensors up to 45 MP that reliably capture even the smallest details.
Both cameras offer low-cost accessories, low CPU overhead, low latency, low jitter, and accurate multi-camera synchronization using IEEE 1588. Both GigE Vision and GenICam compliant, the cameras accommodate cable lengths from 1 m up to 10 km without costly fiber converters/repeaters. “Imaging applications continue to evolve and expand, pushing the need for cameras that can keep pace with the resolution and speeds required in some of today’s most challenging tasks,” says John Ilett, president and CTO at Emergent Vision Technologies. “Whether a demanding machine vision application like electronics inspection or applications beyond the factory floor, such as virtual reality or volumetric capture and metaverse systems, systems integrators need reliable, high-performance cameras like the HZ-65000-G and HB-65000-G that offer the sensor size and frame rates for the job.”
The TCS3530 in displays, monitors and televisions enables superior color management in all ambient lighting conditions – algorithms can use the sensor’s outputs to adjust the display’s whitepoint to match the ambient light whitepoint, resulting in more accurate and pleasing color rendering and perceived picture quality.
The sensor’s performance is exceptional, it’s like having a professional photographer’s colorimeter embedded in a smartphone.’ The TCS3530 color sensor produces an XYZ tri-stimulus response, which means that its three- channel output closely matches the response of the average human eye’s three sets of color- sensitive light receptors. It is the most sensitive XYZ color sensor that ams OSRAM has ever created, producing accurate measurements of chromaticity and illuminance in all conditions, from bright sunlight to near darkness.
Images captured under distorting light sources, such as fluorescent lamps or LEDs Images dominated by large blocks of non-white color
At LASER World of PHOTONICS, Vision Components will also showcase smart components for faster, easier and more cost-efficient OEM embedded vision development. These include the VC Power SoM FPGA accelerator for complex image processing and easy design-in, modular VC nano 3D-Z laser profilers, and the VC picoSmart 3D miniature board camera for the development of ultra-compact and cost-effective OEM 3D triangulation sensors.
For end users looking to maximize the effectiveness of their 100GigE and 25GigE cameras, Emergent Vision Technologies offers a line of network interface cards (NICs). Along with 10GigE options, the company offers 2- and 4-port 25GigE Hermes NICs and 1- and 2-port 100GigE Zeus NICs, which deliver optimal performance for any video stream with minimal system memory utilization, along with low latency and low jitter.
The sensor’s XYZ light measurements are converted in the chip to chromaticity coordinates precisely located in CiE color space. This enables ultra-accurate automatic white balancing in cameras, resulting in natural rendition of object colors in all conditions including:
The large format onsemi XGS sensors requires correspondingly large optics. Therefore, unlike the previous uEye+ Warp10 models, they are equipped with a TFL mount (M35x0.75). For secure mounting, TFL lenses can be firmly screwed to the cameras. The flange focal distance is standardized and, at 17.526 mm, the same as for the previously available cameras with C-mount. To ensure optimal image quality, IDS recommends using Active Heat Sinks. They can be mounted both on and under the models, reduce the operating temperature, and are optionally available as accessories.
