Epoxy is not good for light guides in absorption of light that prevents from light transmitting and creation of heat at the end of the light guides. As hot-fused light guides is not bonded with epoxy, they improve in heat resistance. Also light intensity is improved with extra optical fibers packed in the space where epoxy is originally existed.
