Purchased for mom for macular degeneration. To string for her but mother in-law could use. It is very bright and light adjustment not possible. High, low and length adjustment of position is limited. Easier to use at table than recliner.

I bought this as a gift for a friend who has macular degeneration. His vision is greatly decreased and he was using small magnifying glasses to read everything. And it was difficult for him to write while holding a magnifying glass. We didn't have much hope that this device would provide much difference for him. Surprise surprise! He uses it ALL the time. The light and the magnification have really helped him to read emails, newspapers, letters, pay bills, sign cards. Thinking about getting a second one for living room. It was a little tricky getting it together, however. It is sturdy and good looking as well.
