We are very happy with the acquisition of the Fiber Laser Marking Machine. Our primary use for it is to create 1 and 2-layer PCBs on copper planes. Additionally, it is also being used for engraving logos and identifiers on cases made of various materials (plastics, metals, etc.). We would like a PDF explaining the different configurations of the machine and the selection of parameters such as laser power and frequency, and how these affect the rusting of metals.

The machine was a pleasure to assemble and I can't stop lasering things. It shipped fast and makes a very sturdy impression. I think I will have fun it for a long time.

The unit is extremely sharp and well-made. Would love to have ComMarker add auto focus option to the unit, and of course, make it retrofittable to the one I have. Would also love to have ComMarker add a red preview laser, or make the intensity of the UV laser preview adjustable so you could better see it. I’ve engraved on glass and on steel and it did an excellent job on both. The steel piece I engraved on was super, super small and hence that’s why I wrote about the preview function because it was hard for me to get it in perfect position on the first try. Remember, it is a real UV laser and not blue, but our eyes actually do pick up the preview but at a very dim intensity. ComMarker includes a yellow plastic handheld panel that you can hold in front of the workpiece to try to see the preview better. The plastic has some sort of light shifting properties or phosphor in it that changes the UV light to green for our eyes to see. Still need to test it on some other materials, but I have a feeling It can engrave on anything. The small UV beam may only be 5 W, but it’s 5 to 25 times smaller than the different types of lasers you might use, so there’s more power in a much small size and it may be able to replace ones need for a Q switch pulsed fiber laser and/or blue (pretend) UV lasers rated At much higher power. I’ve asked ComMarker questions and they reply within a day.

My neighbor brought home this nice Lab and needed a name tag. I wanted to practice on my stainless steel engraving, (annealing), and this project came out PERFECT. My Commarker B4 30 watt fiber laser did a great job. The setting were - 35% power, 50 mm/sec, 25 khz, .0254/1000lines per inch, with two passes +-45 degrees. The laser framing feature of the B4 enabled a perfectly aligned text. The ONE thing to remember, is, to let the tag cool for several minutes as the annealing process heated the tag to a high temperature, (I did touch it too quickly only ONCE), before removing from the work bed. These tags are a very good grade stainless with NO affinity to a magnet. At ~ one dollar each, it IS the very best price you will find. AND FREE SHIPPING made this purchase a no-brainer, (which I do qualify with flying colors)... The rectangular tags are also GREAT....
