Schneider Kreuznach color filters are usually absorption filters that transmit light in the red spectral range of about 700 nm. These longpass filters are also open to the near infrared (NIR) range of approximately 800 nm to 1200 nm, enabling measurement tasks in this range. Unlike bandpass filters, which are designed and manufactured as interference filters, color filters are absorption filters that absorb rather than cancel out the light that is not transmitted.
The Schneider Kreuznach absorption filter LP 825 blocks all wavelengths below 825 nm and blocks visible light. It allows all wavelengths between 825 nm and 2000 nm to pass.
