Absorption spectra are the means by which the chemical composition of our sun and other stars was discovered. The dark lines in the spectrum below correspond to elements present in the sun's atmosphere that absorb specific wavelengths of light.

I like these because they get the side of your head so that you don't get any stray light in there. Visibility is good and the carrying pouch is a nice touch.
Comfortable, wrap around, reasonably priced, and they fit over my glasses. I can stare directly at a UV bulb without feeling the slightest discomfort, not that you should. Good price, good product. A must have if you use any UV lights.
The Effect of Light Wavelength The amount of energy carried by a light photon depends on its wavelength. The shorter the wavelength, the higher the energy: ultraviolet or visible light absorption promotes electrons to higher orbitals or sublevels infrared light excites vibrations of molecules microwave wavelengths excite rotation of molecules Absorption Spectroscopy Absorption spectroscopy is one way to study the energy levels of atoms and molecules. An absorption spectrum measures the amount of light absorption as the light's wavelength is varied. The spectrum of an atom or molecule depends on its energy-level structure. This makes absorption spectra useful for identifying elements and compounds, because each spectrum acts like a fingerprint. Absorption spectra are the means by which the chemical composition of our sun and other stars was discovered. Measuring the concentration of an absorbing species in a sample is accomplished by applying the Beer-Lambert Law.
2022108 — Most illumated reticles simply illuminate the entire reticle. All lines including windage and elevation holds. Basically every black line turns red.

These amber shooting glasses are commonly used during shooting, hunting, and target practice. Research studies show that contrast of overlying objects are enhanced by the yellow lenses due to selective reduction of short wavelength light. The amber-colored lenses provide a slight detriment in color vision to enhance the contrast when viewing bright objects against a white or blue background (ie: the sky). These lenses also feature superior eye protection against debris, shell casings, and bullet cartridges.
I'm a female with an eye condition called pterygium, or more commonly known as "surfer's eye". I need wrap-around glasses that protect my eyes from UV light. I wanted something not too "clunky" looking and reasonably priced. These fit the bill! I got black but would love to have other colors: aqua and light purple preferably. I've worn them when sitting out in the sun and walking and am very pleased with them. One thing I'd like is a darker lens, even though I know this has nothing to do with the protection...just prefer a darker tint. Still, they are great otherwise. Please keep these in stock and get more colors if possible! :)

We describe the energy change in the absorber as a transition or an excitation from a lower energy level to a higher energy level.
Absorption of light takes place when matter captures electromagnetic radiation, converting the energy of photons to internal energy. Energy is transferred from the radiation to the absorbing species.

Since the energy levels of matter are quantized, only light of energy that can cause transitions from one existing energy level to another will be absorbed.
