Every Ring Video Doorbell has an LED light located on the front to show you the status of the device. Based on what color the light is and how it’s flashing, you can tell what the doorbell is doing. A red light at night is part of the camera’s infra red night vision system. When there’s not enough light for the camera to see clearly, it will turn on the red light to trigger the camera’s IR filter which helps improve picture quality. Next, use a multimeter to check the power going through the wire. The wire and connections may be fine but the power could still be insufficient. This indicates a problem with the breaker or the transformer.

If your Ring model has a red light that turns on when it’s engaged, there’s no way to manually turn it off. Your only option is to cover the light with paint or some electrical tape.
