Lighting - Streaming Lights, Video Lights, Camera LEDs - light for computer camera
Does anyone know if it is possible to get multiple light sources in a lighting fixture family? I have a linear light that has a repeating light source per foot.
it is my suspicion that you could find a single IES file to solve this problem from a manufacturer. That would be the simplest and probably most accurate method.
Another way this can be accomplished is with the IES files themselves. For a fixture like this, you can have one IES file that is extended out for the intended length. Manufacturers will often have one IES intended to fill the length of a fixture. These are often size/type specific.
Thank you so much, @curtisridenour ! I´ll try this array trick of yours, and keep looking for some good IES profiles to use. So far, I didn´t find a good one, but sure I´ll.
Hi, @iainsavage!! I hve the same issue as @alaina.c and I checked tje link you sent her. However, as I´m using a light fixture model from a company, it seems some parameters are blocked, specially light source. All linear light and led stripes I checked on a good site, have the same issue of linear light source being in just one spot, so it seems the problem isn´t with the models themself. How do I setup the light source in this case? Thanks in advance!!
This is one way to accomplish what you are looking for with an array of nested light sources. You will probably need to tweak it. If you are using certain lighting software (Elumtools) you may need to change the Light_Source family to a Shared Family so that it will analyze properly.
When you have arrays in your families like this, you need to ensure that your Array Value is never less than 2 or it will break. I limited the minimum length of the Fixture to prevent this from happening. You may need to make other adjustments for sizing the Luminous Rectangle size.
