Unlike traditional power electronics, the new driver does not need inductors, transformers or electrolyte capacitors. It is produced using a no-touch manufacturing process which avoids wear-out mechanisms that cause early failure.

FINsix has developed the smallest, most advanced LED driver in the world. Its innovative circuit, which reduces the size of the power electronics, means that this illumination system consumes five times less energy.

As FINsix explains on its website, LEDs are not like incandescent lamps. They need direct current (DC) in order to work, just like our portable devices. This is the function of the driver: a power converter which provides the DC current, and controls and regulates the light’s intensity.

In the previous article we explained a new circuit developed by FINsix, which reduces the size and cost of power electronics. This post returns to the same start-up company to talk about a product related to the implementation of this new technology, which they are about to release onto the market.
