The metaphone matching on forenames has been implemented in a different way. Tables of forename equivalents have been developed, grouping names such as Liz, Betty, and Eliza, with a full version of the relevant name. In this case Elizabeth. Searching for Elizabeth or any of its many variants should return all relevant results. In addition a metaphone search of forenames also implements a search for names that sound like the search term. As with metaphone surname searches, the initial letter and final s have been excluded.

First you’ll want to grab a couple of single AA batteries. The Meta Quest 2 controllers take alkaline batteries, disposable or rechargeable. Luckily the alkaline battery is the kind most commonly used in all sorts of appliances, and is what you’d call a typical AA battery.

To remove the battery wedge one of your nails between the top of the battery on the positive end (or a thin tool that can fit in the gap). To widen your name search, choose Metaphone searching from the drop down menu. You can make this choice separately for surnames and forenames. Selecting Metaphone searching widens your search to include names which sound like, but are not spelled the same as, the name you typed in the search box. This facility has been created using a Double Metaphone phonetic algorithm. Essentially Double Metaphone breaks up an individual name/word into two different versions of its component consonant sounds, and groups them into sound families. In a metaphone search, names with either a ch or sh in the same position in an otherwise similar name will both be returned regardless of how you spell the initial search term. The version of metaphone used here has been modified to reflect eighteenth-century transcription practices and the very different ways that names are spelled in comparison to other types of vocabulary.

The following choices are available. Follow the two letter code link to the right for a detailed description of each Document Type or Additional Dataset. The parish records are listed first, followed by criminal records, Coroners' Inquests, and documents from the Carpenter's Company and St Thomas's Hospital. The Additional Datasets are listed last.

Once you’ve got your batteries it’s time to open the battery covers on the Quest 2 controllers so that you can remove the old AA batteries and replace them with new ones. Since there’s no latch or indentation in the controller it’s not immediately obvious how to do this, so we’ll go through it step by step.

As a result, the documents produced prior to that date, and reproduced here, were between 10 and 11 days out of kilter with the Gregorian calendar used on the continent and adopted in England and Wales at mid century. Under the Julian Calendar the start of the year was also 25 March rather than 1 January. For many documents, such as the Old Bailey Proceedings (OBP) and the Ordinary's Accounts (OA), dates effected have been consistently transformed to reflect a 1 January start of the year throughout. But different practices were adopted by the various projects contributing to the Additional Datasets. Different tagging levels have also been applied to the main run of transcribed manuscripts, resulting in some variability in the application of a consistent recording of dates from January, February and March, prior to 1752. Early eighteenth-century practice was also variable, with many clerks adopting a 1 January start to the year prior to 1752. When using materials from the first half of the century, users should check carefully whether the dates they are recording have been transposed to start the year on 1 January.

Once the covers are removed make sure to dispose of the old batteries. Googling “nearby battery recycling” can show you some potential locations to dispose of old AA batteries.

The boxes below allow you to search the whole of the London Lives website for tagged person names. You can limit your search by individual archives and document types, and by date.

It is also very easy to just use rechargeable batteries, like those found here on amazon. If there are four then you can just recharge the two old ones using the battery charger after replacing them with two new batteries. This means you don’t have to constantly buy new AA batteries and throw out old ones. It’s also good to reduce your environmental impact, and is just an overall win-win.

Please note that Location instances have not been consistently linked to names in all the documents included in London Lives. Linked locations can only be found in the following document types and datasets. For more thorough place name searching, use the Keyword Search page.

Now that the battery compartment is empty get your new battery and determine the positive and negative ends. The positive end will have a little nub on top, there should also be + and - signs on each side that show which end is positive and negative.

Once the new battery is inside, push the battery cover back down over the compartment. When you start up your Meta Quest 2 again, you will see the battery life percentage of your controllers update to reflect the charge of the new battery. It is recommended that you change the batteries of both controllers at the same time.

Grab a single AA battery, making sure the positive end is up, and slip the negative end into the bottom of the compartment (when the grip is pointed upwards as in these pictures). You can push down on the battery so that you have room to slip in the positive end facing upwards. If you’re still confused on which way the ends should go, there is a little diagram inside of the battery compartment which shows which way the positive end of the battery should go.

The short version of how to replace your Oculus Quest 2 controller batteries is this: Remove the battery cover on your Quest controller. In the case of Surnames, the metaphone matching facility excludes the initial letter of each name from its phonetic analysis. This was done on the grounds that the first letter of most name instances is the letter which is most consistently transcribed. We have also excluded consideration of the final two letters of any name where these include the letter s. Substantial testing of the system illustrated that the greatest spelling variance occurred at this location in names of this sort.

Most names which include both a surname and forename in London Lives have been tagged, and can be searched for using this form. Depending on how much information you possess you can widen or narrow your searches using this search facility.

Leave the cover somewhere you won’t lose it for now. It’s time to remove the old battery and replace it. This can also be a little tricky and stiff the first couple of times, but once you get used to this it will be easy. As you can see in the little battery diagram inside the battery compartment, the positive end of the battery is the end that is pointing to the bottom of the controller grip. The negative end is pointed towards the ring.

You can also combine a person name search with a specified occupation and/or place name, restrict by age, or by user-tagged roles and groups. Please note that only some of the relevant information has been tagged and these searches should be used with caution. By filling in the From and To date boxes you can specify the period you wish to search. A date has been assigned to each manuscript page or other data division (in the case of most Additional Datasets, a single record). For manuscripts these dates have been derived from the first date to appear on any given page, or else, if no date is given, the closest date available in the text preceding the page displayed. Since some documents are undated, in some cases this date can refer to the document that precedes it. These details should therefore be checked against a close reading of the document itself. Where no date can be found, the earliest date given in the metadata for the document has been used. In the case of the Old Bailey Proceedings, the dates of all trials are recorded as the first day of the Sessions in which the trial took place, although most meetings of the court lasted several days.

Here I’ll show you all of the Metro Awakening weapons including the order you find them in, how they function, and what each is good at.

There are a ton of fantastic weapons to find and use in Metro Awakening: VR, and they’re pretty unique as far as Virtual Reality shooter weapons go. Despite Metro VR having about a fifth as many weapon options as any flatscreen Metro title, there are still some very fun guns and other gadgets to use in the game.

First locate where the cover is. That will be on the outer side of the grip of the controller, the side that does not have the grip button and is completely smooth. At the top of the battery compartment cover you’ll also see a little downwards arrow indented into the plastic, right below the ring at the top of the controller. This small eject icon shows you the direction to push to unlatch the battery cover. It can be hard to see, but easier to feel with one of your fingers.

If you have fragile nails or simply don’t want to use them to remove the battery, get a thin tool like a pair of tweezers or thin spatula. You’ll either need to use that or one of your fingernails to remove the battery from the compartment.
