Can we move on from EP inverted views !  This is EAA and north is at the TOP and directly comparable to starcharts - please :-)

Sorry if I confused anyone but by inverted view I was referring to black against a white background. I am just so far removed from EPs that I think everyone is on the same page like me but apparently no so

Can we move on from EP inverted views !  This is EAA and north is at the TOP and directly comparable to starcharts - please :-)

Also note the above calculation does not consider the OTA (or camera lens) required image circle size to deliver light to the entire image sensor area.

Or about a million (kidding) 1/3" type sensors ... and we get an idea about the economies involved and why there are a ton of cameras using them.

For each 1 degree FoV need to be covered in the sensor diagonal direction (not horizontal nor vertical direction), multiply

E.g., need OTA focal length = 344mm for a type-1/3" sensor to cover a 1 degree FoV object in the diagonal direction.   Fl=172mm to cover 2 degrees.

To invert or revert, that is the question, however is this not a function of the optical train, excluding the camera (eye).
