The Safety, Housing, Education and Homelessness Committee of the Denver City Council approved Wednesday adding $11.6 million to a contract with Quebec Hospitality LLC to house people experiencing homelessness in a Comfort Inn through 2025. That comes to $120 per room per night, up $10 per room per night since the last lease, according to Denver Director of Real Estate Lisa Lumley.

AURORA, Colo. -- Aurora’s pit bulls can relax. They’re legal again. The City Council voted unanimously Monday to pass an ordinance removing pit bulls from the list of restricted breeds in the city. The pits were outlawed in Aurora after a judge ruled the council’s repeal of a previous ban was unlawful. The council originally banned pit bulls in 2005. In 1922, a group of immigrant German sisters gathered their children and picnic baskets and hopped on the streetcar at East 14th Street and 71st Avenue in Oakland.
