Glass provides excellent visual clarity, excellent scratch resistance & long term durability. Glass is still an option for clients seeking those qualities. Even minimal or standard prescription can feel heavy for some - Glass is not recommended for higher prescriptions or those who seek lightweight options.

Due to our standard of quality - we generally avoid making progressives, bifocals or trifocals without proper measurements. In some cases we can determine positioning from existing lenses.

Digital screens are a part of our everyday life. Blue blocking treatments block the harmful blue light primarily emitted by our digital devices.

We regularly repair and restore vintage and sentimental frames. Yes we can put lenses in vintage - often even if you've been told no elsewhere.

The material all "glasses" lenses were once made of. Difficult to produce & much heavier than modern plastics, glass is presently considered a specialty lens material.

Lathe light

One of the most commonly used materials for lenses, CR-39 provides high clarity and is used for minimal to standard prescriptions. Cr-39 is NOT recommended for use in semi-rimless frames, rimless frames or any drill mount applications.

High index materials (1.60, 1.67, 1.74) are the thinnest, lightest weight lenses available. The level of High Index material is based on prescription strength and a clients preference for the thinnest lens possible.

In CCEA we use only top-quality materials so that our machine lights meet even the strictest criteria for any type of machining application such as EDM, lathe, drilling, milling, grinding, aerospace machining, and industrial automation. They are all designed and engineered to be robust, reliable, and energy-efficient, as well as resisting extreme conditions and protected against corrosion.

Unlike Pupillary Distance - "PD" - Measuring for Multi-Focal lenses the client MUST wear the frame the lenses will be placed in.

Machine light is a fixture used to illuminate manual machine tools and automatic machines, known also as CNC. Machine lights must meet very specific criteria that depend on the machine in which they are installed. Sometimes they have to operate under high temperatures, under strong vibration, high pressure, or even sometimes under all these conditions combined. Therefore, these lights must be equipped with the best materials and technology in order to resist all those conditions.

Multi-Focal lenses - Progressives, Bifocals & Trifocals - contain multiple powers in each lens. It is ESSENTIAL each optical center be situated precisely within the frame to achieve proper vision.

Trivex & "Poly" are considered "safety" materials. Recommended for semi-rimless, rimless or drill mount eyewear - as well as in children's frames. Achieve a thinner, lighter weight lens for minimal to standard prescriptions. For higher prescriptions "High Index" materials are preferred.

Providing the utmost vision quality is our priority. For this reason we REQUIRE in person measurements when making Multi-Focal lenses for our retail clients.

This measurement is typically taken by an Optician and is not always on the Dr.'s Prescription. A proper PD will contain TWO NUMBERS. This is the measurement of each pupil to the centerline of the nose.
