UPS offers the best value for medium size packages. UPS has been moving towards a dimensional weight pricing model where the shipping charges are calculated on the package weight, package dimensions and area delivered. The UPS shipping cost is calculated at check-out and adds to the cost of the order.

This item comes with a limited manufacturer's guarantee on the reflective sheeting. Product life listed above is for normal use.

The Type XI Diamond Grade Reflective is made from 3M Series 4000 and exceeds specification ASTM Type XI proposed. It delivers optimal performance at all sight distances, as well as all light and weather conditions. It overcomes declining illumination from newer headlights, provides the level of luminance needed by older drivers, and accommodates drivers of larger vehicles. The reflective sheeting has 12 year durability.

If the “T” intersection has a traffic light, you should follow the standard rules of the light. Just be sure to look for any crosswalks with pedestrians before turning when you get the green signal, as they have right-of-way; this is a common thing that drivers overlook when making a turn into one of these types of intersections.

Unless there is a traffic light at the intersection, these indicators are also usually paired with a “yield” or “stop” sign to advise drivers on the street that is coming to an end, that they should watch out for and yield to traffic on the road they are about to turn onto. Traffic moving along the top of the “T” always has the right of way.

The “T” sign is in a special category of “special road hazard” signs. These indicators always have the same diamond-shaped backing and yellow color, so you can tell at a glance that there is some unusual road feature coming up that requires a speed reduction / temporary stop or for you to pay extra attention. The center of the sign explains exactly what the special road feature is.

We use ASTM 3105 sign grade aluminum alloy that is long lasting and rust free even in harsh weather extremes. The heavy gauge sign grade aluminum is .080 inches thick and is not easily vandalized or bent. The aluminum is cleaned and degreased to ASTM B-499 specifications as pretreatment for sheeting applications. A chromic acid conversion coating is applied for weather resistance and the edges are smoothed to prevent injury.

We offer signs in optional sizes. The size of the sign required is a function of speed and viewing distance. The faster a motorist is traveling then the further distance they will need to see the sign from. A larger sign can be read from a further distance. The MUTCD has correlated sign sizes by the type of road a motorist travels; Bike Path, Minimum, Standard, and Expressway.

Roadsigns meanings

If you are approaching a “T” stop from the bottom of the “T” and do not see a light, stop or yield sign, you should proceed as if a “yield” sign was present. Slow down at the intersection and look for oncoming traffic and pedestrians crossing in your turn direction before committing to the turn.

A junction is any type of intersection where traffic from different directions converges and can potentially change to a new direction. A “T” intersection is one of the simplest types of junctions; they can become much more complex. Freeway interchanges are an example of a more complex junction, often having multiple exits and ramps that can take the driver in a big loop before finally setting them on their intended street.

It’s particularly important for these types of signs to be reflective, as their primary function is to warn drivers in low-visibility conditions (like darkness, rain or snow) that the street they are traveling on is about to end and they will need to make a left or right turn ahead. All Worksafe placards meet or exceed MUTCD certification standards for visibility.

ASTM 3105 aluminum is environmentally friendly because of its high recycled content; 24.86% post consumer, 65.2% secondary content and only 9.89% virgin aluminum ingots. It can also be recycled for future use. Product life impacts the environment more than any other factor and this product is known for its reliability over competitor's products. This item is Made in America which reduces transportation costs, supply time and its environmental impact. Signs are recyclable and use recycled materials.

If there is no traffic light, there will usually be a “yield” or “stop” sign indicating that you should look out for oncoming motorists before making your turn. In situations where there is no traffic light, the continuous flow moving along the top of the “T” is generally not expected to stop at the intersection. It is up to the driver approaching from the road segment that is ending to stop and ensure oncoming cars are clear before making their turn onto the new street.

The “T” intersection is a point at which three roads converge. The sign that represents it is usually a yellow diamond with a black “T” in the middle, and the main purpose of it is to warn drivers on the road segment that is about to end.

The Type I Engineer Grade Reflective is made from Nikkalite EG reflective sheeting. It exceeds ASTM D4956 Type 1 standards for retro reflectivity which is visible in daytime or nighttime from a wide range of angles. The reflective sheeting has 7 year durability.

“T” signs and guide signs are two different categories of sign. Guide placards are the green and white indicators that communicate information about mileage to destinations, while “T” signs are in the category of “special hazard” signs.

All traffic signs must now be reflective, according to the Federal Highway Administration. The signs come in three grades of reflectivity (technically named retro reflectivity as a measure of reflecting light back to its source); Type I Engineer Grade, Type IV High Intensity Grade, and Type XI Diamond Grade. This product conforms to USDOT FHA standard specifications for construction of roads and bridges on federal highway projects, 1985 FP-85, Type II, Section 718.01. The reflective sheeting is chemical resistant and can withstand temperatures up to 160°F.

The stroke and spacing of the letter style for these W8-2 Dip Sign are also designed and field-tested for maximum readability and conform to the design requirements of the Federal Highway Administrations Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
