Then & Now: Rudra`s Vision Journey 👓Say hello to Rudra! Our #connecticut team first met Rudra two years ago at @hplct. It was the summer before he started kindergarten, and our team was able to make sure he had the glasses he needed for the school year.Two years later, we were back at Hartford Public Library where we once again had the pleasure of being visited by Rudra. Now 7 years old, and getting ready for 2nd grade, he had grown out of his previous prescription and needed a new pair of glasses.@visiontolearn`s commitment to the kids we serve doesn`t end at a single pair of glasses. Say hello to Jocelyn!This past summer Jocelyn wanted to get her driver`s license before entering her senior year of high school, but there was a problem...she needed glasses.Her parents went to schedule an appointment for her with a local eyecare provider, but they were told that the earliest available appointment was next year in January. It was beginning to look like Jocelyn wouldn`t be able to get her driver`s license in time for the start of school, when one of her old teachers heard about her situation and put her in contact with @visiontolearn.Vision To Learn was able to arrange for Jocelyn to receive her first eye exam ever from our team at @hplct`s Dwight Branch. Seeing the Carolinas Clearly! 👀👓@visiontolearn had a blast this week with The David and Nicole Tepper Foundation, @panthers, and @charlottefc as we provided students in Charleston, South Carolina and Charlotte, North Carolina with glasses!Over the course of two confetti and fun filled days, we provide more than 200 students with glasses! This is part of a larger effort that has provided eyecare to 105,000 children, eye exams to 36,000, and glasses to 32,000 in Charleston, Dorchester, and Mecklenburg counties, all at no cost to the children or their families.A big thank you to The David and Nicole Tepper Foundation for supporting our programs in North and South Carolina.
