The Embassy welcomed experts from the French Ministry of the Interior’s Cyberspace Command, the RCMP, and the University of Ottawa’s Centre for Law, Technology and Society to lead the discussions, share their organizations’ approaches, and educate the public.

On October 31, 2024, the Embassy of France in Canada held a multidisciplinary discussion with six experts on AI from France and Canada on the applications of AI in the field of public safety. The exchanges took the form of two round tables: one on the risk of AI-related crime and another on the frameworks necessary for the ethical use of AI.
