2.2.3.  The sign to diagram 507.1 should be used only in the following circumstances: a) where the 85th percentile speed of traffic is 30 mph or less and the stagger does not exceed 50 m, or b) where the 85th percentile speed of traffic is greater than 30 mph and the stagger does not exceed 120 m.

The staggered side road ahead sign is used to show traffic that the side road joining ahead is staggered and traffic can be joining from multiple places. The 507.1 diagram UK road sign has four variations which can illustrate when the staggered junction has priority.
