There is an auto-on feature on the headset the turns on the headset and activities it once it's is picked up or moved. Once the battery depletes below a certain point it won't allow a charge because it keeps trying to turn on and depleting the charge. Meta's response was to exchange it if you have a warnty. If your warranty is out then purchase a new one lol.... There are companies out there that will repair this for you.

I just got off with met quest and I got an email with shipping label and I have to return headset and then they will ship me a replacement metaquest 3. It is going to take 8 to 12 business days. Which to me seems to be a very long time.

I had the same problem. Won’t charge because of some auto on feature. It would cycle between the meta logo and a slashed out battery then shut off in an endless cycle no matter how long I had it plugged in. Pushing buttons to hard reset or turn “all the way off” didn’t do nuthin’ neither.

I took it apart and unplugged everything from the motherboard except the usb c charging port and the battery. Then I plugged her in and filled the battery back up.

Define long time? I held the power button for a minute or more and nothing, zip, nada. Spoke with tech support and they offered to let me buy a refurb since I am out of warranty by a few months. I'm sorry but why would I want to buy another unit from you that has this known problem where it won't let you charge your unit anymore? Absolute garbage customer service and company.
