Thanks guys, this is indeed good info and I’ll include it in the updated service plans for Brocade switches.  I assume this Service Tag pull out tab only exists on the Dell sourced switches; correct?

NOTE : When contacting service support, you will also need the Dell service tag. The service tag label is located on the outside of SAN I/O Module; however, the label is not visible when the SAN I/O Module is inserted in the Dell M1000e Blade Server Enclosure. You can access the service tag number using cli commands.

As their gaffa tape is this PVC tape is the best in the business. I have used other kinds and they are pretty dreadful when compared to this tape. Especially like the 12mm tape which you can double wrap and still snap easily.

We have an issue with our Brocade switches where we are capturing the Brocade serial number in the IB instead of the Dell Service tag, which we need to open a Dell case for the switches.

If your SAN I/O Module was shipped as a single unit, the service tag and serial number are one and the same when viewing the command output. In the sample configuration output provided below, the serial number and service tag are shown as 8RTYJN1.
