After completing the pairing, check the pairing status for the holster sensor under Paired equipment. Green status shows that the pairing is registered in the body worn system.

If the connection to the content destination is lost, a possible solution is to replace the current connection file with a new one. The connection can get lost when the content destination gets a new IP address, or when certain configurations are changed in the content destination.

Because of the similarity of chemical composition, the discussion on fuel oil No. 2, in a separate monograph, is also generally applicable to diesel fuel No. 2 and European automotive diesel fuels. It contains normal and branched-chain alkanes (paraffins), cycloalkanes (naphthenes), aromatics and mixed aromatic cycloalkanes. Because it is likely to contain cracked stocks as one or more of the blend streams, it also contains olefins and mixed aromatic olefin types such as styrenes. Because of its more complex composition and lower percentage of straight-run fractions, diesel fuel No. 2 tends to have a lower cetane number than the No. 1 grade; however, cetane numbers can be improved by the use of additives.

Diesel Oil(CAS No. 68334-30-5) — A complex combination of hydrocarbons produced by the distillation of crude oil. It consists of hydrocarbons having carbon numbers predominantly in the range of C9–C10 and boiling in the range of approximately 163–357°C.

Always initiate all body worn system maintenance, such as resetting the system or removing a camera, from AXIS Body Worn Manager.

In combination with prebuffer, automatic recording activation ensures that the whole incident is captured without the need for the camera user to manually start a recording. You can set up cameras to start recording automatically using:

The Super admin passphrase provides extra security for the body worn system. System critical actions, for example restoring the system, require verification with the Super admin passphrase. It is also required when reestablishing the connection between the body worn system and cameras that are in safe mode. The passphrase can’t be changed.

Access the extension system controller containing the system backup (enter the IP address of the system controller in a web browser).

To reestablish the connection between the camera and the system, click the camera and follow the on-screen instructions. See Allow cameras back into the system.

Go to the AXIS Camera Station 5 Integrator Guide for help on how to integrate an Axis body worn system with AXIS Camera Station 5.

Diesel fuel (boiling range, 186–375°C; 24% aromatics) was not mutagenic to L5178Y TK+/- mouse lymphoma cells either in the presence or absence of an exogenous metabolic system from either rat or mouse liver. Undiluted diesel fuel increased the frequency of chromosomal aberrations in the bone marrow of Sprague-Dawley rats 6–48 h after a single intraperitoneal injection of 2 or 6 ml/kg bw or after five daily intraperitoneal injections of 2 or 6 ml/kg bw per day (Conaway et al., 1984).

In AXIS Body Worn Manager, you can check how long a camera has been undocked. This can, for example, give you an indication that a camera is lost or needs a device software upgrade.

Diesel fuelvs gasoline

Groups of male and female B6C3F1 mice were administered 250–2000 mg/kg bw marine diesel fuel in acetone or 4000 mg/kg 100% marine diesel fuel by dermal application on five days per week for 13 weeks; no treatment-related death occurred. An increased severity of mild chronic active dermatitis at the site of application was observed in the high-dose group (National Toxicology Program, 1986).

The Allow access to recordings setting lets you decide whether the camera user can view recordings in AXIS Body Worn Assistant, or not. You can turn it on or off in the camera profile. To turn off access to recordings:

You can assign cameras to users in two ways. With Fixed camera assignment every user is manually assigned to a specific camera. With Self-assign the camera user taps a self-assign tag on an RFID reader, connected to the system, to pick up any available camera. It is not possible to switch between Fixed and Self-assign without resetting the system. With Self-assign you can assign users to cameras locally or globally in the system. This option is available under Settings once you’ve completed this setup. See Assign a user to a camera for more information.

Performance requirements for diesel fuels are defined primarily in terms of physical tests rather than chemical composition. Table 2 lists the ASTM D 975 test specifications for diesel fuels; Tables 4 and 5 (compiled by CONCAWE) give a summary of the European national standards by country, including kerosene standards (similar to ASTM No. 1).

The US definition encompasses both diesel fuel No. 1 and diesel fuel No. 2. There is no US Chemical Substances Inventory description for diesel fuel No. 1 or the equivalent European kerosene grade; however, in practice, this product is generally a straight-run petroleum distillate with a boiling range consistent with that of kerosene [5] (refer to Table 2 and Figure 1 of the monograph on occupational exposures in petroleum refining and to the monograph on jet fuel for the processing history of kerosene). Kerosene, and hence diesel fuel No. 1, consists of hydrocarbons with carbon numbers predominantly in the range of C9–C16 and boiling in the range of approximately 150-300°C. Fuel oil No. 1 (heating) and kerosene used in Europe for heating applications have similar boiling ranges and are described in the monograph on fuel oils.

The boiling range of diesel fuel No. 1 largely excludes the presence of benzene and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. No direct data on concentrations were available to the Working Group, but kerosene which is approximately equivalent to diesel fuel No. 1 normally contains less than 0.02% benzene (CONCAWE, 1985; see IARC, 1982, 1987) and very low levels of three- to seven-ring polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (Dukek, 1978).

Reset the extension system controller to factory default (this doesn’t apply to the system controller that the body worn system was initially created on), using one of the following methods:

Diesel fuelformula

The studies reviewed in the monograph on gasoline often involved subjects or occupational groups with mixed exposures, particularly to gasoline and diesel fuel. It was often not possible to separate the effects of the two types of fuel. Studies that primarily addressed the risk associated with exposure to combustion products of diesel fuel are not considered here but are the subject of IARC Monographs Vol. 46 (IARC, 1989).

The system backup saves all your settings to an extension system controller. It lets you restore the body worn system in the unlikely event that the system controller, on which the system was initially created, malfunctions. The backup includes all users, camera profiles, camera assignment, and system settings. The backup is updated automatically every 24 hours. System backup is available for systems with more than one system controller.

Diesel fuel No. 1 is essentially equivalent to kerosene, the composition and properties of which are discussed in the monographs on jet fuel and fuel oils. It contains normal and branched-chain alkanes (paraffins), cycloalkanes (naphthenes), aromatics and mixed aromatic cycloalkanes. Normal alkanes usually predominate, resulting in a clean-burning diesel fuel with a relatively high cetane number. Cetane (n-hexadecane) gives excellent performance in diesel engines and was arbitrarily assigned the value of 100 in the cetane number scale (see Glossary); α-methylnaphthalene gives poor diesel engine performance and was assigned a value of zero (Lane, 1980).

You can create bookmarks in a recording making it easier to find the most relevant information later. The bookmarks are shown on the timeline in AXIS Body Worn Assistant video player where you can skip back and forth between them. Bookmarks are a part of the recording’s metadata which means that they can also be used in a similar way in the content destination.

To make the camera start recording when it receives a broadcast from another camera, turn on Receive wireless broadcast.

Clean the connectors on the camera and the pogo pins in the docking bay, see Cleaning in the camera’s user manual at help.axis.com. If the alert remains when you dock the camera, continue to next step.

The oral LD50 of diesel fuel [unspecified] in rats was 7.5 g/kg bw. No mortality was induced in acute dermal toxicity studies in rats dosed at 5 g/kg bw (Beck et al., 1984).

You can reset an extension system controller to factory default settings by removing it from the body worn system, see Remove an extension system controller.

You can force remove an extension system controller from the body worn system if it’s lost or damaged beyond repair. This option is available only when the extension system controller is in state Unavailable. Force removing an extension system controller requires access to the highest security level in the body worn system, permitted using the Super admin passphrase. To force remove an extension system controller:

Dock the camera in another docking bay, where other cameras don’t have this problem. If the camera starts to charge or offload files, the original docking bay is faulty and the docking station should be replaced.

There is currently no camera ready for use. A camera is ready for use when it has enough storage and battery, and it has the same AXIS OS version as the rest of the system.

Internet access to download the app. Updates also require internet access. Internet access isn’t required to run the app.

Signed video adds a cryptographic checksum into each video frame which is then signed by the Axis device ID. This allows video to be traced back to the camera it originated from, so it’s possible to verify that the recording hasn’t been tampered with after it left the camera, without proving the chain of custody of the video file. You can verify your video files using AXIS File Player, see Verify the authenticity of your recording.

The conversion of railroads to diesel engines accelerated in the 1940s and continued after the Second World War, after which time there was a rapid conversion of trucks to diesel service. Today, most heavy duty transportation is powered by diesel engines. Although the conversion of automobiles to diesel service has been very limited in the USA, cars powered by diesel engines are used extensively in Europe, where diesel car registrations accounted for 3.8% of new passenger cars in 1977, 6.9% in 1980 and 17.5% in 1986 (data provided by CONCAWE).

All body worn cameras in the body worn system get the same date and time as the system. By default, the date and time is synchronized with an NTP server provided by DHCP.

Before you connect AXIS Body Worn Assistant to your body worn camera for the first time, the body worn system administrator must pair your camera user with AXIS Body Worn Assistant on the mobile device.

Remember to re-configure the backup when the system restore is done. The previous backup system controller is now where you access AXIS Body Worn Manager. You also need to replace the malfunctioning system controller with a new one.

No data on the absorption, distribution, excretion and metabolism of diesel fuel in laboratory animals were available to the Working Group. One study has been reported on gulls and ducks (McEwan & Whitehead, 1980).

A holster sensor detects unholstering to automatically trigger video recording. In combination with prebuffer, this feature ensures that the whole incident is captured without manual activation. This feature requires pairing the camera user with a Yardarm holster sensor.

Turn on Standby mode for the camera users through the camera profiles in AXIS Body Worn Manager. The cameras then enter standby mode by default when they’re not recording.

Diesel fuelproperties

Anuria, renal failure and gastrointestinal symptoms developed several hours after the incident described above; the sailor recovered after dialysis. A renal biopsy on the second day showed tubular dilatation with casts, flattening of epithelial cells, mitosis and vacuolization (Barrientos et al., 1977).

As the product name suggests, diesel fuels are designed for use as fuels in diesel engines. The No. 1 grade is the more volatile of the two principal grades and gives good performance in engines requiring frequent changes in speed and load, such as city buses. It is also the cleaner burning of the two grades. The No. 2 grade has a higher specific gravity, providing more energy per unit volume of fuel, which is an important economic factor in industrial and heavy transportation service such as railroads, trucks and river boats. Hence the major growth in consumption has been in the No. 2 grade. Diesel fuel No. 4 is a special grade of fuel oil for low- and medium-speed engines that can use a more viscous fuel oil with a relatively high sulfur content (max, 2.0 wt %; Lane, 1980).

A young woman who claimed to have ingested a large amount of diesel fuel (1.5 1) in a suicidal attempt developed toxic lung disease over the next few days, with fever, dry cough and basal opacities on chest X-ray. The condition resolved over the following four months (Boudet et al., 1983).

Install the latest device software version. You can download device software from axis.com. We support different AXIS OS tracks for the body worn system. This lets you choose the track best suited for your system, whether you want all the latest features from the Active track, or you prioritize stability from the Long-term support (LTS) track. For more information, see Device software.

Production and consumption (in thousands of tonnes) of diesel fuel in the USA and in countries of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) for 1970–85.

Select the power line frequency that is used in your region. With the right frequency, there is less image flicker. The American regions usually use 60 Hz. The rest of the world mostly uses 50 Hz. If you're not sure of your region's power line frequency, check with the local authorities.

You can customize the app to, for example, show or hide user names, show warnings for cameras that have been undocked for longer than a work shift, or highlight when cameras change state between docked and undocked.

A woman aged 28 years who accidentally inhaled diesel fuel immediately began to cough, became dyspnoeic and cyanosed and lost consciousness for 1 h. A productive cough with sputum smelling of diesel fuel persisted for 37 days. Chest X-ray showed diffuse shadowing, most prominent at the lung bases, which resolved slowly with treatment but was still present at day 37. Blood biochemistry indicated slight hepatotoxic effects but with no clinical problem (Perez Rodriguez et al., 1976).

If the extension system controller has a newer device software version than the existing system, you’re asked to either upgrade the existing system, or to downgrade the extension system controller.

Diesel diesel fuelsuppliers

Restart the system controller, see System controller. Logs and recordings remain intact on the system controller storage during the restart.

Diesel fuel No. 2 manufactured in the USA is generally a blend of straight-run and catalytically cracked streams, including straight-run kerosene [5], straight-run middle distillate [6], hydrodesulfurized middle distillate [6A] and light catalytically [24] and thermally cracked [30] distillates. The boiling range is generally approximately 160–360°C. The major component streams in European diesel fuels are presented in Table 1.

For AXIS W120, the holster sensor icon lights up white to show that the pairing started. For the other camera models, the Wi-Fi® connectivity LED pulses yellow. Wait for the icon or LED to light up green, which indicates a successful pairing (can take up to 20 seconds). The icon or LED lights up red if the pairing failed.

Use camera profiles to apply the same camera settings to a group of users. You can for example create different profiles for the day and night shifts. A default camera profile is assigned to new users.

You can record the geographical position of the camera. The recorded location data enables content destinations to show the camera’s movement as a track, or as a single location on a map. This information can then be used to identify where an incident took place and to get a clearer picture of the whole course of events. The feature has two modes:

Starts to record when the camera user undocks the camera and continues to record until they dock it again. The camera user can’t use the recording button to stop the recording. If the user turns off the camera the recording stops. When they turn on the camera, the recording automatically starts. The recording button can still be used to create bookmarks or stop a live stream.

Support for the features and settings described in this section varies between camera models. This icon indicates that the feature or setting is available only for some camera models.

You can combine unholster detection with wireless broadcasts. A camera that is paired with a holster sensor can receive wireless broadcasts, but it can’t broadcast signals.

Makes other cameras nearby start to record when this camera starts to record. The other cameras must have Receive wireless broadcast turned on.

The replacement camera enters Recovering state. It can remain in this state for up to 30 minutes. The camera then reboots and starts to upload the recordings to the content destination. When the process is complete, you can assign a user to the camera, which is ready for use.

Diesel Fuel No. 4 is used in railroads, to move river barges and for stationary engines in continuous, high-load service. In addition to their principal use as transportation fuels, diesel fuels are used in stationary gas turbines, for example, to generate electic power during peak load periods. Distillate fuel oils defined by ASTM Specification D 396 (see monograph on fuel oils) are also used in stationary gas turbines. While the respective basic grades of fuel oils and diesel fuel are similar, there are specific requirements that are important for gas turbine service.

A man who cleaned his hands and arms with diesel fuel over several weeks developed renal failure over about three months. Renal biopsy showed acute tubular damage, with patchy degeneration and necrosis of proximal and distal tubular epithelium and preservation of basement membranes (Crisp et al., 1979).

All content destinations require a connection file to integrate with the Axis body worn system. The connection file is generated in your content destination. For information about how to generate the connection file, check the user help in your content destination.

In a single study, diesel fuel induced chromosomal aberrations in bone-marrow cells of rats; it did not induce mutation in cultured mammalian cells but was weakly mutagenic to bacteria. Another sample did not induce mutation in bacteria or algae; a sample of marine diesel fuel and aliphatic and aromatic fractions of an unspecified diesel fuel were also not mutagenic to bacteria. (See Appendix 1.)

If you’re using fixed camera assignment, Assign a user to a specific camera. Alternatively, if you’re using self-assign camera assignment, see Set up self-assign camera assignment.

The time and time zone of your body worn system must always match the time and time zone of the content destination. See Adjust date and time.

The camera vibrates at regular intervals while recording. This works as a reminder as well as a confirmation that the camera is recording. This is mainly suitable for incident based recording. Select a preferred interval for the periodic reminder.

The diesel engine and diesel fuel which provides the energy to run the engine derive their names from Rudolf Diesel, the German engineer who patented the engine design in 1892 (Anon., 1966). He operated his first successful engine in 1897 (Lane, 1980).

The connection between the camera and the docking station is bad. The camera is docked incorrectly. The docking connectors are dirty or worn out.

Dock the camera in another docking bay, where other cameras don’t get this alert. If the alert disappears, the original docking bay is faulty and the docking station should be replaced. If the alert remains, the camera is faulty and should be replaced.

Disables the main body worn camera's recording button (used to start and stop recordings) when the mini cube sensor is connected. Select this option if you want to use the recording button on the mini cube sensor only.

To be able verify the authenticity of your recording, Signed video must be on when the video is recorded, see Signed video.

Diesel fuel No. 4 for low- and medium-speed engines, also characterized as a marine diesel fuel, is approximately similar to fuel oil No. 4 (CAS No. 68476-31-3), discussed in the monograph on fuel oils. As indicated in Table 2, American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) No. 4-D grade is more viscous than diesel fuel No. 2 and allows higher levels of ash and sulfur in the product. A No. 4 grade oil is generally classed as a residual fuel. It may be made either as a refinery stream which contains high boiling material classed as residual oil [8, 21, 31] or by blending residual fuel oil with a lighter material such as diesel fuel No. 2. In either case, it normally contains up to 15% residual oil components (CONCAWE, 1985). Some engines have been designed to operate on two different fuels, with diesel fuel No. 2 used for idle and intermittent service and a No. 4 grade used for high-load, sustained operations (Guthrie, 1960).

In a case-control study of cancer at many sites, there was evidence of an increased risk for squamous-cell carcinoma of the lung in men estimated to have had substantial exposure to diesel fuel. There was also an indication of an increased risk for cancer of the prostate. No attempt was made to separate the effects of combustion products from those of exposure to diesel fuel itself.

Diesel fuel (boiling range, 186–357°C; 24% aromatics) was found to be weakly mutagenic to Salmonella typhimurium TA98 using the suspension method (3.38–25 µl/ml) but not using the plate incorporation method (0.001–5 µl/plate), in the presence and absence of an exogenous metabolic system from rat liver (Conaway et al., 1984). Diesel 25 [not further specified] was not mutagenic to S. typhimurium TA1535, TA1538, TA98 or TA100 (plate test; Vandermeulen et al., 1985), or to Chlamydomonas reinhardtii in a forward mutation assay (streptomycin resistance; Vandermeulen & Lee, 1986). Marine diesel fuel was not mutagenic to S. typhimurium TA1935, TA1937, TA98 or TA100 in the presence or absence of Aroclor 1254-induced rat or hamster liver microsomes (National Toxicology Program, 1986).

In the unlikely event that the system controller where you initially created the system malfunctions, you can restore the system. Restoring a system with more than one system controller is different from restoring a system with a single system controller:

Content destinations normally accept recordings from camera users and cameras that have been removed from the content destination. But if this isn’t supported, and you remove users or cameras in the content destination instead of in AXIS Body Worn Manager, recordings might not be transferred from the system controller. If this happens, you can download the recordings that weren’t transferred to a USB storage device.

Mouse: Groups of 49 or 50 male and 50 female B6C3F1 mice, eight weeks old, were administered 250 or 500 mg/ kg bw marine diesel fuel in 0.1 ml acetone by application to clipped interscapular dorsal skin on five days per week for 103 weeks or 84 weeks (high-dose group terminated due to severe ulceration of the skin), respectively. A control group received the vehicle only. The diesel fuel was a mixture of petroleum-derived hydrocarbons containing 12.7% paraffins and 87.3% aromatic compounds. Survival at 84 weeks was 26/50 and 29/50 among high-dose males and females, respectively; at 104 weeks, survival was 20/49 and 12/50 in low-dose males and females, and 30/50 and 40/50 among vehicle-control males and females, respectively. There was a significant increase in the incidence of squamous-cell papillomas and carcinomas at the application site in males (controls, 0/49; low-dose, 0/49; high-dose, 3/49 (two carcinomas; p = 0.019). The incidences of these tumours at the adjacent inguinal site in males were: controls, 1/50 (papilloma); low-dose, 2/49 (carcinomas); high-dose, 0/50. The incidences of squamous-cell carcinomas at the application site in females were: controls, 0/50; low-dose, 1/45; high-dose, 2/48; no papilloma occurred, and no tumour was found at the adjacent inguinal region. Although no data on historical controls were available for acetone-treated animals of this strain, the background rate for skin neoplasms among untreated mice is quite low (<1 %). The incidences of hepatocellular adenomas in males were: control, 5/50; low-dose, 10/48; high-dose, 10/49. The total numbers of male mice with hepatocellular tumours (adenomas and carcinomas combined) were: controls, 9/50; low-dose, 17/48; high-dose, 14/49 (p = 0.035). The incidence of hepatocellular tumours did not differ significantly from that in historical controls (540/l784; 30 ± 8%; National Toxicology Program, 1986).

The discussions here and in the monograph on fuel oils regarding composition and processing of fuel oils are generally applicable to gas turbine fuel oils, except in those instances where the inclusion of residual components is permitted.

Absorption was assumed to have occurred mainly through the skin of a 28-year-old sailor who developed symptoms of intoxication after using diesel fuel as a shampoo (Barrientos et al., 1977).

If you can’t access the body worn system through AXIS Body Worn Manager, you can reset each extension system controller by accessing them separately:

With wireless broadcast, a camera can start recordings on other cameras. You can now adjust the signal strength for the broadcasts in the camera profile.

The camera user taps a self-assign tag on an RFID reader connected to the system. The system then assigns the user to an available camera. LEDs on the self-assigned camera flash green to indicate that the user can undock the camera.

Replace the network cable between the docking station and the system controller. If the message disappears, the cable is faulty and should be replaced. If the message remains, continue to next step.

To start using AXIS Body Worn Assistant, you have to pair the camera user with AXIS Body Worn Assistant. You generate a QR Code® and a PIN code in AXIS Body Worn Manager, and scan and enter them in AXIS Body Worn Assistant. This results in a secure pairing.

The system controller is the central integration and management point of the body worn solution. It controls that evidence is transferred from the body worn camera to the content destination in a secure way.

Production and consumption of diesel fuels combined as one class of product for the USA and for the 24 countries included in the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) combined are presented in Table 6, and cover the period 1970–1985 in five-year increments (International Energy Agency, 1987). Continued growth in demand for diesel fuel is reflected by the data until 1980.

10 uses ofdiesel

When a camera hasn’t been docked for 8–12 weeks, the certificate eventually expires and the camera enters safe mode. An expired certificate could indicate that the camera has been misplaced.

You can force remove a camera from the body worn system if the camera is lost or damaged beyond repair. This option is available only when the camera is in state Undocked. To force remove a camera requires access to the highest security level in the body worn system, permitted using the Super admin passphrase. To force remove a camera:

The System restore key is an important security feature. The body worn system requires a System restore key for certain operations. These operations include for instance, reestablishing the connection between the body worn system and the existing cameras, after replacing a system controller that has failed. Download the System restore key to your computer and store it in a secure location.

When you use standby mode, it takes about one second for the camera to start recording when you press the recording button.

Remove the rubber stopper in front of the SD card holder. Then pull the holder slightly forward, lift up, and carefully remove the microSD card from the broken camera.

In a case-control study of cancer at many sites in Montréal, Canada, described in detail in the monograph on gasoline (p. 185), an increased risk for cancer of the prostate, with an adjusted odds ratio of 1.9 (90% confidence interval (CI), 1.2–3.0), was observed among men exposed to diesel fuel; however, there was no evidence of a positive dose-response relationship (Siemiatycki et al., 1987). There was an increased risk for squamous-cell carcinoma of the lung in men exposed to diesel fuel (adjusted odds ratio (including smoking), 1.6; 90% CI, 1.0–2.6); for men with estimated ‘nonsubstantial’ exposure, the odds ratio was 1.0 (0.4–2.0), and for those with ‘substantial’ exposure, it was 2.5 (1.3–4.7). Mechanics and repairmen, who constituted the largest group exposed to diesel fuel, had an adjusted odds ratio of 2.0 (0.9–4.2). [The Working Group noted that, in the interpretation of the lung cancer risks, no attempt was made to separate the effects of exposure to combustion products from those of exposure to the liquid itself.]

Post-processing – Unprocessed (no automatic gain control, noise reduction) audio in stereo. Suitable for post-processing applications when you want to apply your own signal processing algorithms off-line or require audio that hasn’t been optimized in any way. Post-processing results in a higher bitrate and a much lower audio level than without optimization.

Make sure the network cable between the docking station and the system controller is properly connected. If the message remains, continue to next step.

Double-tap the right side of the video to go one frame forward. Double-tap the left side of the video to go one frame backward.

Fall detection triggers video recording automatically when the person wearing the camera falls. In combination with prebuffer, this feature ensures that the whole incident is captured without manual activation.

Residual oil components are readily available at lower cost than distillate fuels and provide more energy per unit volume of product. These fuels are used in the same ways.

After you have addressed any of the above issues, go to System controllers , click the system controller and click Retry transfer. Don’t restart the system controller.

The system is supported by different types of content destinations such as evidence management systems (EMS), video management systems (VMS), and media servers. You can use the Body Worn Integration API to integrate with any third party VMS or EMS. Go to axis.com/developer-community to join the Axis Developer community, and get access to the Body Worn Integration API documentation.

Fixed camera assignment is selected in the system setup wizard. Changing to self–assign camera assignment requires a system reset.

Cutaneous hyperkeratosis has been described in engine drivers exposed occupationally to diesel fuel (Gusein-Zade, 1974).

Because of their low volatility, at normal temperatures diesel fuels should generate vapours at only low concentrations, except in confined spaces. High operating temperatures could result in significant vapour concentrations and, as in the case of residual fuel oils, in the evolution of hydrogen sulfide gas (CONCAWE, 1985). No published quantitative data on exposure levels to diesel fuel were available to the Working Group.

When a pairing between a camera user and AXIS Body Worn Assistant is removed from the body worn system, it still remains in AXIS Body Worn Assistant. To replace the existing pairing in AXIS Body Worn Assistant, see Remove existing pairing.

The content destination stores and manages your recordings and metadata. A content destination is for example an EMS (evidence management system), a VMS (video management system), or a media server. The Axis body worn solution supports a number of different content destinations.

Neither aliphatic nor aromatic fractions separated from diesel fuel No. 7911 [not further specified] by dimethyl sulfoxide induced mutation in S. typhimurium TA100 (Henderson et al., 1981).

Select Create a new system if you are configuring a single system controller setup, or if you are configuring the first system controller in a multi system controller setup. Select Extend an existing system if you want to add more system controllers to your existing system. In this step you can also choose your preferred language for the body worn system.

Click the camera and go to the Battery health tab. To get an indication of the battery status, check how many times the camera has shut down in the last 30 days, and how many hours it was used in the last session.

You can export data for all your camera users to a CSV file. This can be useful when you need to make changes to your system that require a system reset, but you still want to keep all the user data. After the system is reset, and all the changes are made, you can just import the user’s data back into the system again, see Import users.

Since diesel fuel is composed of a complex mixture of hydrocarbons, there are few methods for the environmental analysis of ‘diesel fuel’ as an entity, but many methods are reported for the analysis of its component hydrocarbons. These methods are used to identify or ‘fingerprint’ the origin of a specific diesel fuel sample on the basis of the proportions of its component hydrocarbons. No specific method for the sampling and analysis of diesel fuel vapours was available.

For some body worn systems, the hardware is installed in different locations, and for others, the entire system is in the same room. You can choose between globally self-assigning any camera available in the whole body worn system, or locally self-assigning a camera at the same location as the card reader:

If the system controller that you created the system on has failed, you may need to replace the system controller and restore the system, see Restore a system with a single system controller.

Wireless broadcast allows cameras to activate recording on other cameras that belong to the same body worn system and that are located nearby.

Two samples of straight-run kerosene [5], one sample of light vacuum distillate [19] and three samples of light catalytically cracked distillate [24] produced skin tumours in mice. Some residues from thermal cracking [31] produced benign and malignant skin tumours in mice. (See the monograph on occupational exposures in petroleum refining.)

Use the serial number to locate the system controller in the list. You can find the serial number on the underside of the system controller, or on the label on the system controller box.

Occupational exposure to diesel fuel (diesel oil) has been associated with the following operations (CONCAWE, 1985): manually handled filling and discharge; marine diesel bunkering involving the manual handling of discharge lines; retailing through filing stations; tank dipping, pipeline and pump repairs, filter cleaning in refineries, distribution terminals and depots; tank inspection, cleaning and repairing; manufacture, repair, servicing and testing of diesel engines or equipment and injection and fuel systems; routine sampling and laboratory handling of diesel oils; and practices in which diesel oils are used as cleaning agents or solvents.

The link speed between the system controller and the docking station is low. This can cause problems offloading recordings.

Groups of male and female B6C3F1 mice were administered 250 or 500 mg/ kg bw marine diesel fuel in acetone by dermal application on five days per week for 103 weeks (84 weeks for high-dose groups; early termination was due to ulceration of the skin). Increases in haematopoiesis were found in the spleen in animals of each sex and in the liver in females. Increases in plasmacytosis occurred in lymph nodes in females and in high-dose males. Ulcers and chronic dermatitis were observed at increased rates at the site of dermal application and in the inguinal region of the skin (National Toxicology Program, 1986).

You can add more than 40 cameras to your system by adding more system controllers. The extension system controllers become instances of the existing system. All settings are inherited from the system to the extension system controllers. You manage the users and cameras that are added to the extension system controller through AXIS Body Worn Manager. For information on how to extend your system by adding more system controllers, see Extend the system.

When one camera starts recording, it broadcasts a wireless signal to other cameras. The broadcast lasts for 10 seconds. Cameras that receive the broadcast automatically start recording too.

The device software version report shows the current device software version for all cameras and system controllers that belong to the body worn system right now. You can choose to also get information about previous versions for all devices, including those that are no longer part of the system. This provides traceability and a historical overview of the system. It makes it possible for system administrators to keep track of the status of a device throughout its lifetime.

A group of 12 diesel vehicle drivers (six smokers and six nonsmokers) exposed to vehicle exhausts and to fuel, among other agents, was studied for cytogenetic changes. The nonsmoking drivers were reported to have more chromosomal aberrations (mean, 3.6% aberrant cells) than nonsmoking gasoline-vehicle drivers and nonsmoking unexposed controls (mean, 1.4% aberrant cells). [The Working Group noted that a 72-h culture time was used in this study.] No difference between the groups was noted in the frequency of sister chromatid exchange, although smokers in all groups had significantly higher mean frequencies than nonsmokers (Fredga et al., 1982). [The Working Group noted the small size of the group and the mixed exposure of the workers.]

The body worn system allows you to import your camera users’ data from a CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) file. This is the most efficient way to add new users, as well as update usernames and camera profiles for existing camera users with a user ID.

Connect a functioning docking station to the same docking station port on the system controller. If the message disappears, the original docking station is faulty and should be replaced. If the message remains, continue to next step.

Diesel fuel No. 2, when it consists predominantly of atmospheric distillate streams, contains possibly less than 5% of three- to seven-membered, condensed ring aromatic hydrocarbons (measured by the dimethyl sulfoxide extraction method of the Institute of Petroleum). In fuels that contain high proportions of heavy atmospheric, vacuum and light cracked distillates, the level may be as high as 10% (CONCAWE, 1985). Levels of some individual polycyclic aromatics in fuel oil No. 2 (which is approximately equivalent to diesel fuel No. 2) are given in Table 3 of the monograph on fuel oils. Some marine diesel fuels may contain more than 10% polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (CONCAWE, 1985; see also the monograph on fuel oils). Diesel fuels may also contain minor amount of constituents such as n-hexane (below 0.1%), benzene (below 0.02%), toluene, xylenes and ethyl benzene (0.25–0.5%).

Subsequent to the meeting, the secretariat became aware of a study in which skin tumours were reported in mice after application to the skin of petroleum diesel (boiling range, 198–343°C) [corresponding to diesel fuel No. 2] (Clark et al., 1988).

Cloud extensions. The body worn system comes with a set of standard features out of the box. The Cloud extensions are a set of additional cloud-based capabilities that, for example, give you improved location data performance. You can choose to enable Cloud extensions in AXIS Body Worn Manager at any time. However once enabled, Cloud extensions can't be turned off without resetting the system. See Cloud extensions for more information.

Install the holster sensor and unholster to make sure the pairing was successful. The recording LED on the camera should light up red.

In formulating the overall evaluation, the Working Group also took note of the following supporting evidence reported in the monograph on occupational exposures in petroleum refining. There is limited evidence for the carcinogenicity in experimental animals of straight-run kerosene and sufficient evidence for the carcinogenicity in experimental animals of light vacuum distillates, of light catalytically cracked distillates and of cracked residues derived from the refining of crude oil.

We recommend that you reset the extension system controller from AXIS Body Worn Manager, see Reset extension system controller.

The camera usage report shows information about how each user has used their assigned camera for the past 30 days. This includes, for example, start and stop recording, undock and dock, power on and off, and audio mute.

The time it takes to receive the first GPS position after starting the camera depends on the outdoor environment. For example, tall buildings and humidity in the atmosphere can increase the time it takes to get the first GPS position.

Studies on the carcinogenicity in experimental animals of straight-run kerosene [5], which is a component of diesel fuel Nos 1 and 2, and of light catalytically cracked distillates [24] and light vacuum distillate [19], which are used in diesel oil Nos 2 and 4, are described in the monograph on occupational exposures in petroleum refining. Studies on residues of thermally cracked oils [31], which may be used in diesel fuel No. 4, are also described in that monograph.

Diesel fuels are complex mixtures of alkanes, cycloalkanes and aromatic hydrocarbons with carbon numbers in the range of C9–C28 and with a boiling-range of 150–390°C. Kerosene-type diesel fuel (diesel fuel No. 1) is manufactured from straight-run petroleum distillates [5]. Automotive and railroad diesel fuel (diesel fuel No. 2) contains straight-run middle distillate [6], often blended with straight-run kerosene [5], straight-run gas oil [7], light vacuum distillate [19] and light thermally cracked [30] or light catalytically cracked distillates [24]. Some blended marine diesel fuels also contain heavy residues from distillation [8, 21] and thermal cracking [31] operations. In diesel fuel consisting mainly of atmospheric distillates, the content of three- to seven-ring polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons is generally less than 5%; in diesel fuel that contains high proportions of heavy atmospheric, vacuum and light cracked distillates, the content of such polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons may be as high as 10%. Some marine diesel fuels may contain higher levels. Saleable diesel fuel may also contain a variety of additives, such as organic nitrates, amines, phenols and polymeric substances. Exposure to diesel fuel through the skin and by inhalation may occur during its production, storage, distribution and use as well as during maintenance of diesel engines.

When you place a camera in the docking station, the docking station charges the camera’s battery, and the camera connects to the system. The system controller then seamlessly transfers all data from the camera to the content destination of your choice. The system controller also keeps the cameras up-to-date with the latest device software and settings, and monitors the health of the Axis body worn solution.

The system controller is not a storage device. The storage in the system controller is used as a buffer when content is transferred from a camera to the content destination. The body worn system only works when it’s connected to a content destination, where the recordings are stored.

If a camera gets broken or destroyed but the internal storage is undamaged, you can recover the recordings using a card reader and another camera of the same model.

The connection file connects the body worn system to the content destination. The content destination is where your recordings and metadata are stored and managed. The body worn system is locked to a content destination once connected to it. To change to another content destination, you need to reset the body worn system first. See Content destinations for more information.

When you use the maximum resolution 1080p in very complex scenes with a lot of movement, or in low light, the prebuffer memory can get full.

The camera vibrates and beeps at regular intervals when recording is off. This is mainly suitable for continuous recording since it reminds the user to start recording again, for example, after taking a break. Select a preferred interval for the periodic reminder. Turn on Escalating to gradually increase the frequency of the reminders.

Now you can use standby mode on W102 and W120 as well. With standby mode, the camera automatically enters power saving mode when it’s not recording. This extends the operating time but can’t be combined with prebuffer. You turn on standby mode in the camera profile.

You can allow a camera, that is in safe mode, back into the system. This requires access to the highest security level in the body worn system, permitted using the Super admin passphrase.

The Dashboard gives you an overview of your devices and system health. It also highlights any issues that require attention. If there are any issues the page gives you easy access and help to fix the problem.

The body worn system detects new device software versions when they are released. A notification appears in AXIS Body Worn Manager.

Setup through remote desktop solutions isn’t supported. The RFID reader must be connected directly to the computer that you use for accessing AXIS Body Worn Manager.

To use a body worn camera in another system, you must first remove the camera from your current system. Then you can add the camera to the new system.

The body worn system administrator assigns the camera user to a specific camera. The camera user always uses the same body worn camera. See Assign a user to a specific camera

To connect the camera to a holster sensor in the daily use, undock the camera and make sure that it’s in the holster sensor’s range within 10 minutes after undocking. Under normal circumstances the range is 5–10 m (16–33 ft.).

Groups of male and female B6C3F1 mice were administered 2000–40 000 mg/kg bw 100% marine diesel fuel by dermal application for 14 consecutive days. No animal treated with 20 000 or 40 000 mg/kg survived. Skin lesions were similar in all dosed groups — moderate acanthosis, parakeratosis and hyperkeratosis, accompanied by mixed cellular inflammatory infiltrate in the upper dermis (National Toxicology Program, 1986).

Reestablish the connection between the body worn system and the existing cameras. see Allow cameras back into the system.

The prebuffer has dedicated space on the camera storage. When you use the maximum resolution 1080p in complex scenes with a lot of movement, or in low light, the prebuffer memory can become full. If the memory gets full, it results in a slightly shorter prebuffer time than configured.

Go to the AXIS Case Insight System Integrator Guide for help on how to integrate an Axis body worn system with AXIS Case Insight.

Name your body worn system. This makes it easier identifying it in your content destination and in different cloud services, and when you receive email notifications about critical system events. You can change the system name under Settings in AXIS Body Worn Manager.

In Europe, carbon numbers up to 28 and final boiling-points up to 390°C can be found for automotive diesel oil (CONCAWE, 1985).

The camera certificate expires in less than a week if the camera isn’t docked. A camera with an expired certificate enters safe mode the next time it’s docked.

When AXIS TW1201 Mini Cube Sensor is connected, the indicator behavior is applied to the sensor’s front recording indicator.

In its early history, the diesel engine was exploited for its versatility and ability to use a variety of cheap fuels. More recently, the requirements of efficiency and economics have prompted the development of fuel standards to meet desired performance characteristics, particularly for transportation service. Diesel fuels are appreciably less volatile than gasoline. They are classed as middle distillates and are more dense than gasoline, thus providing more energy per unit volume than gasoline. The product definition for diesel oil in the US Chemical Substances Inventory under the Toxic Substances Control Act is:

The connection with the content destination also requires that the network communication is working properly. This can include proxy, firewall, and anti-virus configuration.

Remove the extension system controller that you want to force remove, see Remove an extension system controller. If the extension system controller is in state Unavailable, it stays in the device list, but is grayed-out.

We recommend that you use 7-Zip, which supports AES-256 encrypted archives, to extract the downloaded recordings. Your default zip application might not support archives from the body worn system.

Dock the camera in another docking bay, where other cameras don’t get this alert. If the alert disappears, the original docking bay is faulty and the docking station should be replaced. If the alert remains, the camera is faulty and should be replaced.

By default, the Axis logo is included as an overlay in the recordings. To hide or show the overlay, go to Settings > Camera > Logo in video overlay and turn off or on Show Axis logo in video overlay.

Continues to record after the camera user has stopped the recording. The camera still indicates that the recording has been stopped.

The body worn system comes with a set of standard features out of the box. The cloud extensions are a set of additional cloud-based capabilities.

You can remove a camera both docked and when it’s in use. If you choose to remove the camera when it’s in use, all content is transferred, and the camera is removed after it’s docked. When the content transfer is complete, the camera is reset to factory default with the latest uploaded device software.

A recording transferred to AXIS Case Insight is associated with a user. The AXIS Case Insight user corresponds to the person wearing the camera, the camera user. The association makes it easier to search for and collect recordings made by a specific person, for example when you create a case.

Adjusts the reach of the wireless broadcast signal. The stated distances are applicable for open, outdoor spaces without any obstructions.

Axis devices send the initially set password in clear text over the network. To protect your device after the first login, set up a secure and encrypted HTTPS connection and then change the password.

In general, the higher the content of straight-chain paraffins and paraffin side-chains in diesel fuels, the lower the autoignition temperature, and the higher the cetane number. However, waxy components tend to cause flow problems in very cold weather. Accordingly, more kerosene is often blended into winter grades of diesel fuel No. 2 to improve the flow properties. Diesel fuels are generally dried by passing through salt driers or water coalescers and filtered to remove rust and dirt.

The camera state changes from Adding to Docked or Charging when a camera has been added. It can take a couple of minutes.

Dock the camera and remove it from the system through AXIS Body Worn Manager. This resets the camera to factory default. Add the camera to the system again. See Reset camera.

You can also include the continuously updated position for a recording as an overlay in the video. To turn this on, go to Overlay in the camera profile and turn on Position.

You can use certificates for authenticating devices on a network, and enable encrypted web browsing using HTTPS. We recommend that you use HTTPS to securely connect to your body worn system. See Allow HTTPS only.

Connect the RFID reader to the system controller. Wait for the LED on the reader to light up green, which takes about 15 seconds. The reader now has the correct device software and is ready for use.

We have added the AXIS logo as an overlay for all cameras. You can turn it off in Settings > Camera > Logo in video overlay.

Choose whether the camera user is allowed to stream to AXIS Body Worn Live, or not. For more information, see Enable live streaming in the AXIS Body Worn Live user manual.

This lets you choose the track best suited for your system, whether you want all the latest features from the Latest (active) track, or you prioritize stability from the Long-term support (LTS) track. Through assisted device software upgrade you get notifications whenever there’s a new version on the track that you’ve chosen.

As reported in a review of teratology studies in rats exposed to different fuels by inhalation, exposure of animals on days 6–15 of gestation for 6 h per day to 100 and 400 ppm diesel fuel [unspecified] resulted in no teratogenic effect (Schreiner, 1984). [The Working Group noted that details were not reported.]

No report specifically designed to study genetic and related effects in humans following exposure to diesel fuel was available to the Working Group.

Categories and notes contain additional information about a recording. This information can for instance help investigators or evidence management systems when building a case, or when managing files. You can add a category and notes to a recording using AXIS Body Worn Assistant, while the recording is on the camera.

You can also include RFIDs for each user. This means that if you’re using self-assign camera assignment, you can associate RFID tags with all the users at once, instead of pairing each self-assign tag individually.

Open the video you want to categorize. Select one of the predefined categories. See Category and notes for more information.

Synonyms: Diesel fuel oil No. 1; diesel oil No. 1; No. 1 diesel (These designations are not used in European terminology. Where fuels similar to US diesel fuel No. 1 are available in Europe (Scandinavia), they are commonly referred to as kerosine or Arctic diesel. In some cases, non-descriptive terminology applies, e.g., dipolar in Sweden for special kerosene fuels used in urban areas.)

You can manually backup the system at any time instead of waiting for the scheduled backup. This ensures that all your data and settings can be saved on demand. To manually start the backup, go to Settings > System > System backup and click Backup now.

Cetane improvers, such as organic nitrates, can be added to improve the ignition quality of the product. Oxidation inhibitors are added to prevent product degradation; corrosion inhibitors and metal deactivators can be added as required. Biocides are sometimes used when bacterial growth in storage may be a problem, and rust inhibitors can be added to minimize corrosion, particularly in storage facilities. Additives such as cetane improvers and oxidation inhibitors are usually added to normal production volumes by refiners; the use and concentration of other additives may be agreed by the supplier and the purchaser. A wide range of additives may be employed to assure satisfactory technical performance; examples are shown in Table 3. Military specifications for diesel fuels include many additives (US Navy, 1985).

Synonyms: Diesel fuel; diesel fuel oil No. 2; diesel oil No. 2; No. 2 diesel (term not used in Europe) In the UK, distillate fuels are frequently categorized as Class A1 (road diesel) and A2 (off-highway diesel).

One sample of marine diesel fuel was tested for carcinogenicity in one strain of mice by skin application, producing a few squamous-cell carcinomas and papillomas at the application site in animals of each sex and a few carcinomas at the adjacent inguinal region in males.

Refiners normally select blend stocks to ensure easy starting and smooth engine performance. Sulfur, nitrogen and oxygen compounds are present as impurities in these streams, but their presence can be limited by hydrotreating and other processes. Because No. 2 diesel fuel, and European automotive diesel fuels in particular, normally contains minor quantities of olefins, the stability of the product in storage is of concern. Fuel degradation products formed during long-term storage can result in troublesome contamination. High temperatures and oil-soluble metal compounds (particularly those containing copper) can hasten degradation. Storage in the presence of water promotes bacterial growth which can result in sludge. Refiners generally prefer not to use additives in diesel fuel, although they can improve and preserve its quality.
