Simple text-only signs: If you need a simple design with some customised text, just enter the dimensions and text required. We'll scale your wording to be as large as possible within the dimensions given. Therefore, the smaller the dimensions or the more text you add, the smaller the text on the finished sign. The font used as standard is Ministry of Transport (MoT). However should you wish to use a different font just let us know by email, stating your order number.

Clips come in pre-determined diameters for circular posts. One end of the clip slides into the channel, the other is then bolted in place around the post.

Background: I have a 4 month old goldendoodle who was just cleared for "paws on pavement." We have a lot of work to do to get him comfortable with walking on a leash in a stimulating environment (meaning, outside our backyard). I want to be respectful of my neighbors' wishes, but it's difficult to keep him completely off the grass when we're on the sidewalk. I try not to have him potty on my neighbors' grass (hasn't done it yet), but I'm get anxious that my neighbors will run out screaming if his paws even tough their grass.

The traffic signs standard gives the stiffness required of a traffic sign but, as a performance standard, says nothing about what material it should be made from. There are sometimes good reasons why you might want to choose a particular type of material for the sign substrate: • To minimise the scrap value and therefore the likelihood of theft • For reasons of economy, particularly for temporary signs • To make the sign easier to handle and mount. Aluminium Unless you specify otherwise, a sign will usually be made of 3 mm (11 gauge) aluminium alloy, stiffened by aluminium channels affixed to the back. This provides excellent structural support, but you might also wish to consider: Composite Composite material has an LDPE (polyethylene) core between aluminium skins. It provides similar structural support to solid aluminium sheet, but is lighter in weight, less susceptible to theft and less affected by price fluctuations. Traffic grade composite sheets differ from other composites by having a saline-resistant bonding agent that resists road salt. Zintec Zintec is electro-zinc coated steel sheet. This coating protects the sign from corrosion and will last longer than standard steel. The cost of Zintec is considerably cheaper than other materials and as such is the most commonly used substrate for our road work temporary frame signs. The back of a sign will generally be grey, but TSRGD (Direction 42) also allows you to specify black. If you are specifying a sign to be erected by someone other than its manufacturer, you might want to stipulate that a large sign should be made in modules, for ease of handling and erection.

Post Details: Material - 3mm steel Length - 1 to 3.5 meters (all posts above 3 meters are non stock items and will incur a 15 working day lead time)  Diameter - 76mm Base Pad - 300mm square, 10mm steel Colour - Black or Traffic Grey (any other RAL colour please request price)

Signs for post mounting are supplied with "rail" (also called "channel section") on the reverse. This allows the sign to be secured with post clips (also called channel clips).

Post clips come in a number of standard sizes, which are specific to the diameter of the post - 76mm (3 inch), 89mm (3.5 inch), 114mm (4.5 inch) and 140mm (5.5 inch).

ETA: we don’t have strips of grass between the sidewalk and the road unfortunately, and the sidewalk is very narrow (one person at a time).

DoubleArrow signmeaning

Modern traffic signs are faced with a long-lasting vinyl material that is usually retroreflective. Signs intended only for pedestrians or mounted parallel to the kerb line do not generally need to be reflective, as they are unlikely to be illuminated by vehicle headlamps. Retroreflectivity is achieved either by incorporating glass beads into the material, or by moulding tiny prisms into the plastic, and are therefore known as glass bead or microprismatic sheetings. But it is the performance, not the underlying technology, that is important to the sign specifier , and this is recognised in the classes recommended in the UK National Annex to BS EN 12899-1:2007 (with Corrigendum 31.10.11): Locations where high-performance materials are required Class R3B Other locations where retroreflectivity is needed Class RA2 or Class R2 Non-retroreflective material Class NR1 Classes R2 and R3B refer to tables NA.1A and NA.1B in the UK Annex and relate to products that have a European Technical Approval (ETA) to one of these classes. Class RA1 refers to the lowest grade of retroreflective material, sometimes known as Engineer Grade, which is not recommended for use on UK traffic signs.

Manufactured using 3mm aluminium, stainless steel and only the best quality 3M inks and vinyls. Performance lives of up to 12 years can be expected.

Our customers include companies big and small. We supply many local authorities as well as private individuals with one-off orders.

Has anyone seen "no dog" (or more commonly, no poop) signs on their neighbors' front lawn? It seems to be every other house on my street. I'm trying to be respectful, but it's really hard to keep an excitable puppy off the grass while we're on the sidewalk. How do you approach these kinds of wishes?

We only use high-quality 3M vinyls for superior lifespan, covering you for any failure against shrinkage, peeling, cracking or UV light fading.

Wall mounted signs are supplied without rail on the reverse. It is best to screw straight through the face of the sign into a wall. We do not supply screws or rawl plugs with wall mounted signs as the requirements will vary depending on the size of the sign and wall material.
