We can also apply diamond-like carbon coating (DLC coating) or high durable coating (HD coating) on lens surface to provide extra protection against scratch and impact.

Germanium lens is optical lens made of germanium. Germanium (Ge) is a crystalline material with the highest refractive index (4.002@11µm) of the commonly used infrared materials. It also has a comparatively low dispersion, high hardness and density. Due to its broad transmission range (over 45% in the 2-12 micron band) and opaque to the UV and visible light, Germanium is well suited for IR application such as thermal imaging systems, infrared field applications and precision analytic instruments.
