Lenticularlens

Giving the lens an a-spherical shape (such as a paraboloid, hyperboloid or ellipsoid), we can correct this unwanted side effect. That advantage is especially useful in zoom-lenses.

The production process of the a-spherical lens form is more complicated than that of the regular convex. That is why the prices of aspherical lenses are so much higher.

Prices, specifications, and images are subject to change without notice. Not responsible for typographical or illustrative errors. Manufacturer rebates, terms, conditions, and expiration dates are subject to manufacturers printed forms.

A normal lens, also called ‘sphere’, has an even convex shape. The disadvantage of this is that an image distortion called spherical aberration can occur: the parallel light rays that pass through the glass do not all end up at exactly the same focal point, resulting in a distorted reproduction.
