Yes, the price is noticeably getting lower. I think I would prefer a germanium sensor with sensitivity from UV to SWIR, it would be more useful for multispectral imaging.

These looks like a good deals, but if it's about 5000$ maybe it would be more economical to borrow it,  it depends on how much one uses it ofcourse.  A very quick google search showed that SWIR rentals are not easy to find, wonder what are the rental prices?
