In the letter dated on March the 3rd 2022, the European Commission has informed the Russian Federation about suspension of the Agreement on financial and implementation of Cross Border Cooperation Program "Kolarctic" 2014-2020 signed between Russian Federation, Finland, Sweden and the European Union. On that bases Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M. V. Lomonosov (Russian Federation) was suspended from DeConcrete project.
The concept of distortion describes how a lens maps a shape on the object plane to the image plane while assuming other aberrations are negligible. Once the lens mapping function is known the distortion characteristics are fully determined. In a rotationally symmetric lens with infinity object distance, the lens mapping function relates the image height (h) on the image plane to the field angle (theta) in the object space. Some of the commonly seen mapping functions are shown in Figure below:

Concrete is the second most-consumed artificial material in the construction industry. There are acute problems of re-using large volumes of reinforced concrete waste and organization of technological and economic methods for their recycling. Environmental issues and eco-efficient approaches of waste handling, reducing the contamination (dust) are of special concern as well. These issues are very relevant to the North Calotte.
To get the total magnification take the power of the objective (4X, 10X, 40x) and multiply by the power of the eyepiece, usually 10X. (Click Here To See Image).

Main objectiveDeConcrete project main objective is to enhance cross border Arctic Technologies Cooperation between industry, academic and R&D communities for growth of circular economy in the Kolarctic region by developing new approaches to reuse and recycle construction materials (concrete) concerning the environment and cold climate traits in a sustainable way.
Soft jaw pliers used in optics and photonics applications are available at Edmund Optics.
There is a wide variety of lens mapping functions or distortion types available for machine/computer vision lenses. Discussing your application needs with our engineers helps to understand the trade-offs before finalizing on the lens distortion specification.
The ambitious DeConcrete project was executed over 39 months (ending 31’st December 2022) and funded (total budget of 1 178125 euros) by the KOLARCTIC program with national co-funding from Norway, Finland and the Russian Federation plus partners efforts. The DECONCRETE Project consortium and partnership comprised of SINTEF Narvik, Oulu University, UiT and the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov (NArFU). DeConcrete project targeted on the acceleration of circular approaches uptake in the building industry with a closer focus on concrete waste recycling. Thanks to the active collaboration of all partners, excellent relation of an academic and also personal level was established and contributed to the organised workflow. All partners were active in reaching out to the industry, and thanks to that, many results reached the industry and were implemented or are under implementation. Prove of a well-executed project is also a follow-up project Ar2CorD led by UiT. Last but not least is important to mention that DeConcrete project partners faced two significant events, restriction of physical events due to the COVID-19 pandemic and suspension of lead partner from Russia. Despite those significant events, the DeConcrete project was successfully finished and completed all the promised activities.
Lens distortion is a commonly used term in the general specification of lenses. The classic, textbook definition of distortion includes barrel and pincushion type distortions. These concepts are useful for photographic optics where the field of view of the lenses is not extreme. Lenses designed for machine or computer vision applications can have an extreme field of view. Field of view greater than 100 degrees are common specifications for machine vision lenses. We need to develop more suitable concepts to describe the distortion characteristics of these lenses.
Like a traditional fisheye lens, Tailored Distortiontion™ is ideal for automotive, security, and medical applications where an ultra-wide field of view is required. Please view our webinar to learn more about Sunex Tailored Distortiontion™.
Project "DeConcrete: Eco-Efficient Arctic Technologies Cooperation" is a member of the Kolarctic family being on-stream of cross-border cooperation for developing the Arctic region. It is a result of the third call for proposals for the Kolarctic Cross Border Cooperation Program "Kolarctic CBC 2014-2020". The project was developed by a consortium of organizations covering the entire value chain in concrete work.
