I have some plants in a south-facing window that gets very strong direct light. I'd like to get some sort of a window covering that diffuses the light about the room, much in the way a greenhouse covering does.Can anyone give ideas about what I could use for this?

Alternately, search the yellow pages under the heading "Glass - coating and tinting" for a list of businesses that specialize in application of vinyl coatings similar to what I mentioned.

There are clear plastic coatings sold in roles at hard goods stores as shelf paper or cupboard lining. Some have a diamond pattern and some have a frosted appearance. Expect them to reduce available light in the visible part of the spectrum (that part important to plant metabolism) by about 15% in addition to the 15%+ reduction of a single lite of clear glass or the 25%+ reduction of an insulating glass unit w/o pyrolitic coatings, heat mirror, or similar.
