DFPMHT Grade Diffusers are a slightly higher-transmission version of DFPM Grade Diffuser Film, a is a 1/side matte, 1/side gloss film that can be used under a variety of lighting conditions. The gloss surface provides a specular back reflection. This grade is made from a rugged PET base film, and is available mostly in .003″ and .004″. Other thicknesses are custom.
Are circular light diffuser films approved for direct and in-direct skin contact? Although circular light diffusers are perfectly safe for direct and indirect skin contact, they are not certified as such.
Mirror Mounting Clips: If you are unsure of how to hang a frameless mirror, mirror mounting clips are the ideal solution. They are usually sold in sets of four – two for the top and bottom. Mirror mounting clips are mounted onto the wall at the top and bottom of the mirror, and the top clips are often spring-loaded to allow for easy insertion and removal of the mirror.
Masonry:Masonry walls are built from brick or concrete, making them the strongest of the three. Due to their sturdy construction, masonry walls also require specialized tools for any sort of mirror hanging hardware, such as a hammer drill and masonry drill bits.
Metal Cleats: Metal cleats are heavy duty mirror hangers that are particularly ideal for long horizontal and heavy mirrors with thick frames. Metal cleats come in pairs – one that attaches to the back of the mirror and the other to the wall. The cleats then slot over one another for a firm and stable mount.
Mirrors come in a wide range of sizes and styles, serving both functional and aesthetic purposes. They easily make a room appear larger by reflecting light, liven up an empty wall, or help you check your appearance when getting dressed. Some statement mirrors can even be used as an alternative to artwork. There are several ways to hang a mirror on a wall, depending on the type of mirror, wall, and mirror hanger you wish to use. Use this guide to learn how to hang wall mirrors safely.

Drywall: Drywall – also known as wallboard or plasterboard, is a construction material that is primarily made of gypsum (a mineral) which is blended with several additives to create sheets. These sheets are then cut to size and are attached directly to wall studs with screws, rather than mortar and plaster. Simple mirror hanging hardware works well on drywall.
Step 2:Choose where you want to hang your mirror. Hanging a mirror on a stud is always best but isn't always possible or necessary, as long as you have the right mirror hanging hardware and tools.
Step 6:To hang your mirror, line up the mirror hanging hardware and hang it on the mirror mounting hardware on the wall. If your mirror is heavy or you battle to see the back, get someone to help you ensure you hook it correctly.
Wall Hooks: Wall hooks are the most common mirror hanging hardware. These metal hooks are screwed into the wall to allow the hanging wire to be placed over and hung from. These are best for lightweight and small mirrors hung from drywall and even plaster.
Hanging mirrors is not a difficult task, but it does require careful planning, measuring, and the correct tools. To ensure your mirror is securely in place, no matter the size, shape, or weight, you need to prepare for the following:
Once you have selected your installation location and chosen the appropriate mirror mounting hardware, you can move on to hanging your mirror. For a secure mount, it is best to follow these step by step instructions.
Is our circular light diffuser film biodegradable? No, it is not. The only biodegradable film product we offer is Acetate film and sheets.

Toggle Bolts:Toggle bolts are another heavy duty mirror hanger option that are great for heavier mirrors. They require only a small hole in the wall to fit the toggle bolt through. On the other side of the wall, the toggle is able to spread out and create a firm grip on the wall once the bolt is tightened.
Anchor & Screws: Plastic mirror anchors and screws come in a wide range and are ideal for hanging heavier medium or large mirrors on plaster and masonry. A hole must be drilled into the wall, the plastic anchor inserted, and the metal screw fixed within the anchor for a sturdy installation that can support the weight of a mirror. They also work well if you are unable to install your mirror hangers on a stud.
Step 5: On the wall, mark where your mirror installation hardware is to go. Make sure all measurements align with the mirror itself and install as per instructions.
Does circular light diffuser film have good electrical properties? Sort of. Although it’s made out of polyester, its high performance light diffusion coatings are not meant for direct electrical exposure, and we don’t have any testing data on this product in applications where the film is being directly exposed to electrical current. For electrical applications, we recommend our Hazy DuraLar™ polyester film products. Please contact us today and we can help you with your requirements.

Velcro: To hang a mirror on a wall without the use of nails, you can use velcro strips. These fast and easy alternatives simply need to be attached to each corner of the mirror, with the corresponding sides on the wall. Simply press on and allow the adhesive to dry. Velcro is only suitable for lightweight mirrors.
Before inserting any nails into your wall, check that no electrical wires are running through by using a cable, pipe, and stud finder to be sure.
Are any of our optical films, including our various diffuser film and paper, approved for direct food contact? No. Grafix stocks other types of film products that are, including acetate, specific brands andgrades of polyester film, HDPE and polypropylene. Other types food-safe films are available as a custom order; larger production minimums may apply.
D-Rings: D-rings are found on the back of a mirror. They are D-shaped steel rings that are held in place by a double-over metal strap. It is possible to hang the mirror from the D-rings, or loop wire through them to suspend the mirror from.
DFPM Grade Diffusers are translucent, 1/side matte, 1/side luster film that can be used under a variety of lighting conditions. The luster surface provides a bit of specular back reflection. This grade is made from a rugged PET base film, and is available in a variety of thicknesses and sizes.
What is the heat resistance of circular light diffuser film? Circular light diffuser film is designed for use in environments below 85C/185F. At higher temperatures, the matte surface could yellow, or lose some of its ink adhesion properties. At really high temperatures (above 150C), it begins to lose its orientation; it will become wavy and shrink.

LBMT Grade Light Diffuser Film is a 1/side matte, 1/side gloss clear film. Its low, uniform birefringent properties make it ideal for diffusing polarized light. This is a lighter diffusion product with maximum transmission – more aggressive than anti-glare film, but not as hazy as our other products. And it can also be thermoformed!
Step 1:When you are hanging mirrors you need to be sure you have the correct tools based on the installation wall and mirror hanging hardware you intend to use. This includes:
Self-Leveling Hangers:A self-leveling hanger is a single metal piece that attaches to the upper back of the mirror. This can then be hung on the wall mirror hanging hardware. It usually has several notches to allow you to adjust the mirror until it is level.
Are our circular/bulk diffuser films suitable for outdoor use? No, not as a first surface. If exposed to the elements, our circular/bulk diffuser film diffusion surface(s) will be negatively impacted If you need to put this material outside, it must be contained in something else that will keep it from being exposed to excessive UV and moisture.

Plaster: Plaster walls are made of strips of wood which are nailed to wall studs. These planks are then plastered over in order to create an even and attractive wall surface. This type of wall is more sturdy than drywall and requires more hardy mirror hanging hardware.

Step 4:If your mirror has a hanging wire, pull the wire taught toward the top middle of the frame. Measure the distance between the top of the wire to the top edge of the frame and transfer this measurement to the wall by measuring down from the line you drew earlier. This is to ensure the wire is not visible when hung

Can circular light diffuser film be recycled? No, not in the traditional sense. The diffusion coating on this film is a contaminant that will foul up the recycling process.
Mirror hanging hardware comprises two parts. The hardware that is attached to the back of the mirror, and the mirror mounting hardware that will be attached to or inserted into the wall. It is important to choose compatible hardware to ensure a safe mount.
They can be used for a variety of different lighting applications like electronic displays and signs, LED-based lighting systems, fluorescent-based lighting systems, and printed signage.
If you need a matte film for higher temperature applications, please contact us directly to discuss other possible options.
Does circular light diffuser film resist tearing? Yes, it does, because it’s made from our DuraLarTM polyester film. However, attempting to tear it could cause damage to its functional coatings.
Before you begin hanging mirrors, you need to select the placement location. Whether you choose the lounge, entryway, or bedroom, you need to take note of the type of wall you will be hanging your mirror from. There are three main wall types to work with:

Command Strips:Command strips are another adhesive alternative that is suitable for hanging smaller mirrors. It is important that the wall you hang them from is not in direct sunlight, is exposed to no moisture, and has a completely flat and even surface. To install command strips you press the glue side down onto either the mirror or the wall, and remove the protective covering on the exposed side and press the mirror firmly against the wall.
DFIM Grade Diffusers are translucent, internal matte film that can be used under a variety of lighting conditions except polarized light. 2/side luster, internal matted finish provides maximum diffusion at an economical price point. This grade is made from a rugged PET base film, and is available in a variety of thicknesses and sizes.
The weight of the mirror you plan to hang is the next important factor to bear in mind. This applies specifically to larger and heavier mirrors, which will in turn require more durable mirror hangers. Small and lightweight mirrors need not be weighed, but if your large mirror does not come with a weight measurement, it is a good idea to use a scale to determine the weight so that you can choose the correct mirror hanging hardware to support that weight.
