WALB News 10 went to all the main stores and convenience stores looking to see where the highly sought-after solar glasses are available. Unfortunately, most places had sold out.

These solar glasses protect your eyes from the sun’s harmful rays. You should look for solar glasses that have the ISO 12312-2 filter.

Although Georgia will not be in the line of totality, experts still encourage Georgians to avoid looking directly at the sun without certified ISO solar glasses. It could cause solar retinopathy. Wearing these glasses is a small measure to take for this extraordinary event.

If you know of a place in South Georgia that’s currently selling solar eclipse glasses, please post it on the WALB Facebook page.

On Monday, the eclipse will start at 1:45 p.m. in South Georgia, it will peak at around 3 p.m., and end at about 4:20 p.m.
