Wie man sieht, sind die Effekte, die man mit Strobing und Contouring erzielen möchte, nahezu dieselben. Lediglich durch die Technik unterscheiden sich diese beiden Vorgehensweisen. Dabei ist das Strobing deutlich weniger aufwändig. Ob Contouring oder Strobing: Ein Must für jedes Make Up sind volle, dichte und lange Wimpern.  Hierfür eignet sich unser Wimpernserum zur Wimpernverdichtung und Wimpernverlängerung besonders gut.

Contouring bedeutet übersetzt so etwas wie Konturierung. Es geht konkret darum, bestimmte Gesichtszüge zu betonen, und deren Form zu modellieren. So können vorteilhafte Gesichtszüge hervorgehoben werden, und vermeintliche Makel ausgeglichen werden. Hierfür wird beispielsweise Camouflage-Make-Up oder Bronzing-Puder eingesetzt. Essentiell für ein effektives Contouring, ist dass Puder beziehungsweise Make-Up zwei bis drei Nuancen dunkler sein müssen, als die eigene Hautfarbe.

Viele bezeichnen Strobing als die neue Form des Contourings. Bei dieser Technik werden ebenfalls bestimmte Gesichtspartien gekonnt hervorgehoben. Der Unterschied ist allerdings, dass beim Strobing ausschließlich Highlighter genutzt werden. Man kann sagen, dass Strobing dadurch eine einfacher zu erlernende Technik ist, als das Contouring. Auf jeden Fall kann man schneller gute Effekte erzielen.

Bei Strobing werden meist 5 Stellen hervorgehoben: Die Wangen, wodurch das Gesicht optisch geschmälert wird, der Nasenrücken für eine schmalere Nase, die Augenbrauenpartie, sowie die Stelle über dem Lippenbogen, sowie das Kinn. Mithilfe des Strobings werden diese Stellen im Gesicht gezielt hervor gehoben, und der Gesamteindruck wird akzentuierter. Man muss allerdings drauf achten, nicht zu viel Highlighter einzusetzen, und darauf, dass die durch Strobing akzentuierten Stellen auch gut verblendet werden. Nach dem eigentlichen Strobing Prozess muss man weiters darauf achten, das Make-up  nicht mit Puder zu fixieren – denn sonst geht der Glanzeffekt des Highlighters verloren. Stattdessen empfiehlt sich Plotting Papier.

Danach noch die Foundation und den Concealer auftragen, und schon kann das Contouring beginnen: Einen Concealerpinsel verwenden, um das dunklere Camouflage Make-up oder das Bronzing Puder auf die gewünschten Gesichtspartien auftragen und dann alles verblenden, um die Übergänge unsichtbar zu machen, beispielsweise mit einem Make up Schwamm. Danach werden durch einen Highlighter oder ein helles Puder Lichtakzente gesetzt, und diese ebenfalls gut verblendet. Schließlich wird das fertige Make-up mit transparentem Puder fixiert.
